have you guys heard of anti-lag? which standalone has that and which ones don't? its not two step, i've heard the stinger doesn't have two step. is this true?

Why's the HKS so low on your list? The F-con V-pro is an extremely full featured unit.

It's also one of the few that works with OBD2.


86_sports_1jz: If you set your timing super retarded on decel, most units will do anti-lag ;)

aem ems has anti-lag.

hks is powerful, but its modified via dealer only. The end user has no control over the stuff. For some thats fine (They're going to get it tuned anyways and not touch it), for others they want to play with it.

My first question is why?

ALS makes the turbo a toss away part. The more aggresive the ALS (timing wise), the shorter the lifespan of the turbo. If you think it looks cool, it does! That is until the turbo dies and you have to buy another one which at that point, looking cool does not seem like to bright idea.

hi guys,

instead of starting a new thread i figured id post in here to keep all the information in one thread for others searching just like me.


well really unsure what standalone to go with.


i own a jzx90 Mark II with 1JZ GTE.

mods that i will have for standalone are as follows:

550 injectors
T4 60-1 .57 ar
FMIC
Walbro 255lph pump


im hoping to get a tad over 400rwhp. anyways i have no clue when it comes to standalones. Heard lots and lots of good things from Power FC but for JZX90 they seem next to impossible to find and the ones you find are $$$.

i talked to Aaron at driftmotion and he mentioned the stinger. anyways i thought wow $900 pretty good. well turns out its nor really $900 as i need a $2XX harness. also unsure if ill need a boost controller or if the stinger controls boost as well.

AEM EMS seems overkill for what i need.


basically its a drift car that is also driven on the street. will be running 94 octane fuel. basically looking for a simple standalone that is reliable and easy to tune by a professional tuner. i like the idea of the Power FC because of the commander and how it acts like 10 gauges in 1 kind of deal. i hate having gauges all over the car.


basically i guess im stuck between Power FC and EMS Stinger. what would you guys pick if they were same price?

also is there any other management units that seems to fit what i need/want that i dont know about?


1 last thing, it must allow me to keep AC.

I also don't have a clue about stand alone, but, i have a 1jz from jzx100 with 6860 and it works great. You will need wideband and boost controller but thats just 2 gauges. so far i didn't have problems with my set up. Zeitronix makes a great unit for your gauge needs, one gauge and lots of inputs.
