did you figure out how to check the tps, if so how are you going to go about it. wish i still lived in L.A, we could just work on one car and speed this prosses of elimination up!

i am going to remove the throttle body since thats the only way to get to the tps and use a volt meter on it. im not sure if im suposed to use the 7mgte tsrm or the 2jz tsrm

Well i live in south florida lol. I dont kno how to adjust the tps. Looks like you got a better hold on it than me. Im running out of things to check though. im gonna call up a supra friend and see if he can come through and see if i can find some flaws in my setup.

TPS adjustment nor o2 sensor will cause your issue.

Check fuel pressure and

map sensor signal voltage, post the following voltages.
"key on, engine off"
"engine running"
"whats the voltage when you begin to open the throttle."

Whats the actual idle vacuum reading?

That makes three of us with this problem. Anybody figure this out? seems like as soon as I give it fuel my afr goes completely lean. hesitates at 5 psi then finally boosts and takes off and my afr goes to 12-11.5. Also getting a nasty draw off the battery two days of sitting and my batteries dead.

have not figured it out yet! i have changed fuel pump, fuel filter, checked tps (its all good), no vac leaks, no cracks in coil packs, gap on plugs (still black).

still looking for answers on how and what to look for when testing map sensor!

just keep trying and if you figure it out before us then please let us know, also let us know what didnt fix it so we dont have to waste time:)

wish us luck, cant drive with it like this!!!!

Is the sensor hanging loose with a vacuum line and a 3 pin connecter the map? if so, im getting 5 volts on the key and 4.9 when the engine is running.

The easy way to test if the map sensor is any good is to unplug it. If there's no change then there's something wrong with it. On the map sensor, the brown wire is ground, blue with a black strip is positive voltage, and the light green wire w/black stripe is the output. Testing 5v from blue/black to brown just shows that there is power going to the map sensor, not that its working. You should get a voltage from green/black to brown, which is the map sensor output. It should also range from 0-5v, at idle it should be very low voltage and should stay low until you get into boost.

The motor turns off when i unplug the map; however, if i turn it back on with it off it runs and is the same. the voltage on the green wire is 2.6 on the key and 1.3-1.9 with the motor on. the vacuum line goes to the nipple on the inside of the intake mani towards the back right?

well thats a bummer you dont know how it happend! if you can think of anything that might of help let us know buddy:)

checked my map sensor out and with the key on and voltage on green wire is 2.64, engine running it was at 1.43 gave it quick throttle and it jump to 2.43 when it wanted to die.
vacume was at -17 to -18

oh yea when i disconnected the map it wanted to die and idle like crap, plugged it back in the idle smoothed out right away. but bogged out when i revved it.

MAP sensor seems good.
Whats the voltage at the FP terminal of the diag block, while its trying to cut out?
Fuel pressure?

i cant read fuel pressure right now, i need to get a afpr. i will check the voltage at the fp terminal of the diag block first thing in the morning.

kuwugata- the wires are to short to get them crossed on the cam sensor plug, and i think the sensors them self are the same.
