1jz -ati damper

i've been hearing lots of stock 1jz crank pulleys blowing at high rpm so i decided to get an ati damper

is summit the cheapest??

Mine broke apart a few months ago, I went with the fluidampr. Its 1 piece, fit super easy, looks stock and is very nice. Got it from summit too. I got the 2jz-gte pulley and used the normal belt for the 1jz w/ air.

It is a common problem on the 2JZ as well.

mine has cracks on it (1jz) the 2jz one the whole belt assembly fell off... fucking dampers are shit (stock that is)

Bump from the past. Are you all running the 2jz ati unit on a 1j? I am about to replace my damper. Want to make sure the 2j unit is the way to go.


Edit. Just got off the phone with ati. The 2jz unit is good for the 1jz as well.


My next question is what serpentine belt are you using? I only have the ps pump to run as i am eliminating hydro fan.

I went with the fluidampr and it uses stock belt after my second stock pulley went.

I can be had for around $380 with a belt in my research. Once i get it sorted out i will post up the proper belt to use.

I'm already on my 2nd crank pulley as well and I only swapped in my 1J in April 2012. I'm gonna invest in a Fluidampr unit hopefully before I go single.

The ebay link had the gates belt number on it. Even with no hydro fan you still have the water pump so the belt would be the same for both setups but not OEM.

i would imagine the stock one has length for the AC pump. I have eliminated that so I don't think a stock length belt would work out for me.
