to lower the car to put in the engine, i would take off the rims and use ur old sawblades just the rims and sit it on them.

If it is the original transmission, it is W58 for sure. Bore and stroke is 75mm x 75mm, compression ratio is 8.5
For example you could go with a TRD Clutch, it is an easy find. The 1G-GTE is a well tuned engine in Japan. Over 500 HP at the engine was realized. There was and still is a lot of stuff for it. Can get you some parts, if you are interested.

2 liter inline 6 has to sound awsome!!!!!
I would love to get my hands on a 1g and just have fun with it...but the lack of wiring schematics and talk over in the states is kind of hindering that motor from being haild.
I wouldnt say the 7m ( much less any M series) motor is "that much" better in all honesty.....they are both dated and have their quirks.
But if anyone has a wiring diagram in english and a good motor...i would love to have fun with it heheheheh

one way is to take it to a machine shop and have them take the engine apart and match pistons. if ur talking about bolt ons only well most u can adapt, manifolds u would have to make.

If I wanted a Toyota engine that was 2.0L, I'd go with the 3S-GTE. More available parts, it's gonna be lighter, still iron block and aluminum head, and they have great HP potential [late model 2G MR2s had 245hp] - plus, because of it's smaller size, you can push it closer to the firewall, making plenty of room in the front of the engine bay. The 3S-GTE has been used in JGTC Supras instead of the 2JZ-GTE for weight savings.. and yet you don't see any Skylines using SR20s instead of the RB engines. Chalk one up to the 3S, and Toyota!

most people over here dont both building 1g's thay slap a T04 on and boost it till it blows and then throw in another! at one stage 1G-GZE's where going for $99aud less the blower!

sweet! there is a site called importbitz.com.au they sell alot of manifolds for my engine for the t04 setup what do you think would be best twin or single i would like to get the highest power out of it possible?
