Lets say you have a 1990 Supra chassis that your going to paint, and when your done either put a 7MGTE or a 1JZ-GTE ( Front Clip ), into, then re-sell it. Which one would bring you in more money? The work not being much of any issue to you considered.

From what I see, people can sell shitty 1JZ cars for more than peolpe can sell nice 7M cars, Usually a 1JZ car has about a 1-2K premium over others.

Agreed! When ever you say "Twin Turbo" people freak out. So my vote is 1jz.

89+ body, clean, with a stock 1jz done right? I'd shell out about 6k for one.
89+ body, clean, with a stock 7m? Probably about 4k max.

yes the 1jz you can get for more, but lets think about this, it costs more to properly install a 1jz into a 7m... and a lot more time.

I tried to rebuilid and sell cars... its wayyyy too much trouble. and i didnt exactly make my money i wanted to. you have to remember that you can only get what somebody is willing to pay... KBB and all of those dont mean shit.

if you have the time and money, get a 1jz, but you could also get a 7m and put that extra money towards paint, because you'd be suprised how much more you can get for a car that looks good, and drives even better.

If you take the price of the swap compared to the stock 7M, it's about even cost wise. But, it'll probably be easier to sell a MKIII with a 1jz swap that is done right.

Depends how well the 1j swap was done. A hackjob 1j swap isn't worth shit to me but I wouldn't mind paying good money for a nice 1J swap. And I have.

I'd rather have a 7M car, as I don't trust other people's work unless I'm there to supervise.

I'm interested to hear how you plan to pull a decent profit from this?

The 1J is obviously going to pull in more cash, but I'd be seriously surprised if you can make more than a couple of nickel and dimes after completing a full and clean 1J conversion, bodywork and all of little bits and pieces that WILL come up on a project like this.

My advice would be to plonk a 7M in there, cut and run, unless of course you've got an ace up your sleeve?

Jz has rice appeal so will pull more $$$ ;)

Exactly, more people would be interested and willing to shell out more once you say "itz got dat JdM tyte oneJZ y0!"

Shithead ricers seem to have the money, and since it will be all about the money for you....play the game.
