I'm interested to hear how you plan to pull a decent profit from this?

The 1J is obviously going to pull in more cash, but I'd be seriously surprised if you can make more than a couple of nickel and dimes after completing a full and clean 1J conversion, bodywork and all of little bits and pieces that WILL come up on a project like this.

My advice would be to plonk a 7M in there, cut and run, unless of course you've got an ace up your sleeve?

Getting it for $200 with everything but a front bumper, motor, trans, and ds. Comes with good condition 89+ tails, trim, lights, ect. 2 sets of interior including maroon and blue, eclipse wheels with 75% tread ect. It's in pieces thats all, the owner was getting ready to tear it down and paint it.

I'm going to autobody school and ideally I'm going to turn my garage into a painting area. Or I can even have it towed to school to paint.

If I don't make a huge profit, I don't care really. I certainly know I won't loose anything. As I said, I don't really have a plan to do a 1JZ for it, I'll probably just go down the easier road.

I've made profit on Supra's before. I made 200% on the last one I sold, and I could have easily made more but I was in a rush to sell it so I listed it on ebay.

Shaeff: In this case the 7M would be someone elses work as well as it's just a chassis.

Ah, I missed that. Then I'd rather buy just a chassis, with the motor of my choice un-installed. :)
