Well not sure if this will really add to the thread, but a local sup with 2jz swap and dynoed 550.1 RWHP, only ran 12.3. He was in street trim, but had some sticky street tires. On another note my best time with my V is only 13.7 ish at 105, and it is 405 hp at the crank so maybe 330 ish hp at the wheels. Yes Im missing .2-.3 sec, but the trap speed is there compared to others that run the V. 13.5-13.4 at 105.

Like others said a lot of it is in the driver.

Nah I belive you, but I bet you got more power than you belive. What was your sixty foot?

I don't belive supranasty, 12.49@102mph, no way. Unless he meant at 112mph.

read the post bro. he let up at top. Actually he pressed the brakes. It was bracket racing so he had to slow the car down or else he wouldve ran to fast for his dial in time. Thats why the mph is low for a 12 second pass.

ahh I missed that.

I ran a 1.9 sixty so don't say I can't drive(street tires, 245's). If I lost my subs and crap out of my car, and power shifted(never would, espicailly with the w58), sure I'd be close to 12.9/13.

I had a 12.49@102 FTW, and 12.90@104.99 missing third gear first run. This was at the fall nationals in Englishtown NJ . I dialed in a 12.35 .

He dialed in 13.00 and ran 13.55@103 .

Do the MATH

13.55 12.49
13.00 12.35
=.55 < = .14

I WIN .:icon_bigg

what do you guys have for suspension mods? what do you use for tires?
i went to the track friday (last night of the year) and ran a 13.3@ 114, and a best mph of 116, all at 15psi.
best 60' was 2.4, the ass end of this thing was hopping around all over the place. the track was sticky so it wouldn't spin, just hopped like a bitch.

Nitto Drag radials and a slip of the clutch...no lowering springs

Ok, on the subject of driving... here's a few things I've discovered over the years.

  1. Don't race on a budget. If you can't afford to break it, don't bring it. You're not going to get the most out of your machine if you granny shift, bog on the launch, or freak out and let off because of wheel hop.
  2. Get the right tires. My car with 568hp went from a high 12s car to 11.63 because I went from street tires to slicks. Yes, they make that much difference.
  3. If you're going to race a lot, invest in the right equipment. A line lock for burnouts helps. Boost off the line helps. Rev limiter at the line helps. Get them all and set them up so you don't bog.
  4. Don't worry about reaction times... the clock starts when you cross the line for most tracks. All the ones I've raced at, anyway.

This is how I run mine... show up at the track, bolt on the slicks, check the pressure, line up, burnout in 2nd gear until they smoke, stage, clutch and accelerator to the floor - Vipec limits it to 4200rpm - antilag cuts in and large backfires ensue - wait until 12psi on the gauge, pop clutch, HANG ON, keep accelerator pinned while shifting just before hitting the rev limit in each gear. Oh, and try to keep it aimed in a straight line, which is actually a lot trickier than you would think after a certain speed on slicks.

Small adjustments on the launch would likely get me lower in the 11s, but there's no point really, it would just get me booted for going to fast without the extra safety equipment.
