This to me is not a *defacto standard* build sheet for a 1000hp 7M.
A lot of the stuff on the list is not needed or overdone. It might be the way *you* would build one, but not what's required.

Read the first post again. I does not say that this is the required build. I was asked to sec a 1000hp intermitent use build. So I posted how I would do it of course. Spec your own build if you don't like how I wrote it up.

rich why would you change the main caps i have not heard of us stretching these or maybe you have some info i don't.

and what bearings would you source for this project? (rod and Main)

My Motor is built much the same as Gary's motor in his rail so in theory "could" make 1000hp with the right supporting mods.

Would I try it?

HELL NO!

I know how much stress and deflection there is in a 7M at a sustained 500rwhp and I consider Rich's "list" to be a nice starting point and for my style of use I'd expand in a few areas.

At this point a 1000hp street 7M is pure fantasy as no one is close yet on boost.

At the HP levels I spec for this build, crank deflection comes into play. Billet main caps in place of a girdle will help in keeping the crank from flexing. May or may not be needed, but if it was my motor, I would use the billet caps. You will see wear on the bottom of bearing 5, and the top of 1 and 7.

IJ please feel free to expand.

IJ your motor is built beyond Gary's spec. It is almost funny how little Gary has done to a 7m to get the work out of it that he has. Your block plus a gt4202 and fuel will do a 1000hp. but like you said. Why? Other than to prove a point, or to class race, it is pointless to spend the money. But then again, I have seen a lot of things in my day, and a 1000 hp all boost 7m is not one of them. Except for Gary's of course.

Rich: I think I'd be more comfortable with a one piece Steel Main Cap and Girdle assembly and maybe L19 hardware throughout if I was going for 1krwhp sustained.

Add to that Dry Sumping with a dedicated Vacc pump for the crankcase to pull vacc at all times.

As I said earlier I see a LOT of deflection here after a few months of top end pulls so anything that helps keep it all straight would be beneficial.

I'd possibly look into a billet crank from my shop but for a street car it's insanity, I have enough trouble making 500+ drivable let alone double that.

1krwhp on a dyno or for 9 seconds is VERY different to 1krwhp for minutes at a time ;)

You'll see more 1000RWHP Supras soon enough. I know of a few that will be coming out soon that are not on this board.

IJ - I stressed a side oiler, but it was not recieved very well. But remember, this is only a intermitent use 1k hp. Not sustained. A billet crank cost me 3200.00 dollars to make, but your right, it is still out of budget for most of the 7m crowd.

Duane hurry up already I'm getting ancy:biglaugh: By all means it will take a while but i'll have a 1k 7m in a street body and broke pockets. Whould carrilo rods hold up to this power? What is a side oiler IJ?

What is intermitent use? What is sustained use?

LOL "new" 7M blocks aren't really new now are they ;)

There's minimal movement in a new block compared to a "green" block (one that's a few months to a year old)

No matter how good or seasoned a 7M block is it's still a big long wet noodle.
