Eh, that's really not that bad. Highway speed limits are 70mph, so you'd have to be doing 120mph to get slapped with that, and if you're dumb enough to sustain 120mph+ speeds for a long time, you deserve it anyway

Good. Though, if your going to be a fucking dumbass and endanger the lives of my family for your own gratification, $1000 fine isn't enough.

I come from a land down under
Speeding has always been a gamble....

They bet you they can catch/fine you, you bet they can't.

The stake has changed a little nothing more.

If they rqaised the stakes to where they would shoot you in the head if 50 over people would still chance it thinking they can beat the house.

Agreed wiff Tanya!

120+ mph sustained....

throw the book at you.. HARD.

The law applies to low speed limit areas as well not just the highway.
I live in a rural but residential zone and I have had plenty of turds doing what seems like 50mph + in a 30 mph zone. Now that really pisses me off.

It's like the rediculous laws where they take your car and crush it.

Just means more people will run and more lives will be endangered, nothing more.

I didn't endanger anyone's life other than my own thank you. It was an empty stretch of I5 at 3am and that was the ONLY reason why i was driving that fast.

Don't think I was pointing at YOU personally. I understand there are extenuating circumstances.

I speed plenty on open/unoccupied roads. (read: Utah stretch of I-70 and I-15)

On trip to Vegas cruise was set at 100mph.

Speeding 50 over is just ridiculous though. $1000 dollar fine doesn't seem too high to me. :dunno:

HAHAHA in some states they charge more than that for 10 to 20 over, like virginia and a few others. 1K for 50 over isn't that bad, lol kinda a pathetic fine really, doesn't get the job done at all, 1k isn't much for a car owner capable of doing over 50 mph over the posted limit.

Most of the guys here that do race do it on the interstate usually around midnight or 1am. Ive done it a few times and there has been no one on the road except a few trucks but we were in front of them anyway.
