Just thier own lives.

a supra might be faster than most police interceptor. It will never ever be as fast as the Motorola's they use ;)

I think there were a couple of stories on here where that theory was tested, and distroyed figgie.

But of course those were only stories, not reality ;)

OWWW...... My 110 in a 55 was pretty bad too. $550 later for the fine and $1200 to get the car out of impound after a 30 day.

..................

There's more to thia story.

Were you intoxicated or had a suspended licence?

Something doesn't add up.

I've gotten a few tickets over the past two years. My licence is still CLEAN.

Learn how to fight tickets and keep your mouth shut, or man up and pay the "sports" car tax. If you get a 50 over the limit ticket in my opinion you've earned it! Man up and pay it! (or Fight it, or Pay Someone to fight it!)

(I'm Speaking from my personal experience)

Sustaining 120+mph isn't the brightest thing to do, but in California I can imagine cars getting crushed and licenses being revoked for years on end so... it doesn't seem that bad to me, at least.

Florida is flat as a board and the roads are straight as an arrow.

Late night driving and you don't notice how fast you're going until you look down

Speeding has always been a gamble....

If they raised the stakes to where they would shoot you in the head if 50 over people would still chance it thinking they can beat the house.
hahah i would too :p

yea but the radar gun they use isnt as fast as my passport :D

realistically tho, i try to never speed, especially in school zones/ neighborhoods. saw a honda doin atleast 45 through a 10mph parking lot that has a preschool in it and pulled my work truck in front of him (F350 turbo diesel > beer can) then watched his passenger eat some dash. highways and interstates are an exeption (10mph over mostly) unless someone is being a douche and riding my ass till they can try and speed by at like 25 over, in which i put my foot to the floor and put them in their place.

if your going 50 over, im sure you would notice, even if you didnt look down

Back when I had my truck and I drove my dad's Infinity I was doing over 100 and didn't realize it until I looked down at the speedo. Some cars are just that smooth...

Most of the guys here that do race do it on the interstate usually around midnight or 1am. Ive done it a few times and there has been no one on the road except a few trucks but we were in front of them anyway.

what were the odds of me not responding to this one?

since you will admit to doing this, i have no problem saying i'm tired of dealing with assholes that do this.

shure it seems harmless enough, but when(not if) one of you brain dead morons screws up doing this, you are endangering a drivers livelyhood. I won't say his life, because an 80000lb truck owns a 3500lb supra every time.

please let me explain...The human body hits a natural lull from about 1-3 am in the morning(as well as the afternoon).During those times, reaction times slow down a bunch. Chances are, unless you are like 10 miles in front of the truck, he isn't going to be able to react in time when one of your buddies blows a tire and hits the wall. Even if the driver can react, the truck can't.

Now the driver has hit you from behind. in any court he's going to be charged with following to close, and will lose. If someone dies, he is going to prision for manslaughter. The courts don't care if you were streetracing in a deal like this, the trucks gonna lose, the public dosen't like trucks.

i'm not even going to get into what the civil court lawyers are gonna do, but it will prolly involve ordering a bently with all the options.

now, i'm not going to sit and defend the trucker too hard, he did hit the streetracer from behind. but it wouldn't be an issue if those dumbfucks weren't out racing in the first place. but the driver will never work in the business again, if he's lucky enough not to go to jail.

I have had this happen to me twice now, only narrowly escaping a wreck. Every week i see at least a couple of imports being pulled out of a ditch, or scraped off of a wall.Almost nightly i have these assholes whizzing past me in the small hours of the morning. It's getting to the point where i hate import guys. and i am one...

forgive me, i just quit smoking. i might be cranky.

oh, in most states now, 15 over with a cdl is considered reckless driving, in a commercial vehicle or not.you only get two of those in a career..

It's like the rediculous laws where they take your car and crush it.

Just means more people will run and more lives will be endangered, nothing more.

i have to agree with poodles but there is a no persuit law in florida so they will let you go and find you later.

I'm with u on this one. My dad has been a trucker for 28 years, no truck wins in an accident.

I ran a guy off the road going about 120 mph in a white civic on the way from NJ to florida on 95(i was going about 70, he was speeding). oops. i was going into the left lane to pass, and he was wayyyy back. When i finished passing he was behind me with the tires smoking starting to slide sideways, and off the road into a nice swampy rain runoff. hope he learned after that! this was also about 1 am. And ive taken this drive about 15 times now, so i am pretty cautious on the highway.

It is for me, 4th tops out at 130ish due to gearing. I can hit it quick enough, but I would rather not sustain it.

I try to stay away from major highways, I like the smaller ones, with open space and grass on the sides, less potential for traffic and no truckers allowed. I would rather die hitting a tree/wall than kill/injure someone due to a stupid and pointless act. If I race, or do stupid things there is NO ONE on the road. Once someone is seen, I shut it down.
