I have a US car. This is day two of no problems, no starting lag, nothing. I would normally have the problem occur 2-5 times a day, with the "lag" occuring almost every startup.

I got to sit on this for a while, but as of now it appears the starter relay mod worked. The car has been firing up no issues after I installed that relay. That wire that plugs into the starter just isn't suited to that job, but it works the relay just fine.

Are you always so rude when addressing those unfortunate enough to not have your level of expertise?

Had it rebuilt and the starter has been tested! Plus, why would jumping the car solve the issue?

We talking about that wire that is below the intake plenum? It connects from the negative battery terminal to the side of the engine, right?

I found a thread about creating a second starter relay to relieve the stress on the weak little wire that goes to the starter solenoid now. If it works, I'll let you guys know the outcome, and post some pictures of the how-to to better explain it.

Well i just tried starting the car in gear and it won't start, but it is definetly a different clicking noise. nope! it's an automatic. I'm going to be doing a swap pretty soon though, I have the tranny sitting at my house. The automatic is kinda fubar now as it is, so I don't know if that could somehow be related? seems unlikely, but with this car I dont know.
