Hey guys! I'm currently working on a customers Supra (which just so happens to be my old car...) and I'm installing an AEM EMS v1. P/N 1130-031. I'm attempting to hook it up via speed density, but I'm having some issues.
The IAT sensor is easy, 2 wires, wired into two pins on the old AFM plug...
Going from the Toyota world to the GM world and back to tinkering with my old car, its nice how well documented all the different heads are for an LS type engine. Known good combos, known bad combos, which heads flow the best, which heads have the biggest/smallest chambers blah blah blah.
I had Tein Street? coilovers on my car before I traded it in, and I loved them. Took it to a track day about a month before it went away. Granted it was my first track day, but they seemed to handle the roughness of the track rather well.
No, you'll need a different crossmember and driveshaft. Also, theres a rather complex throwout bearing/hub/clutch fork system as its a pull type clutch instead of a push type. You should be able to get the clutch hardline to work, if i remember correctly. In any case, theres still quite a few...
This intercooler was one of the, scratch that, THE WORST mod I EVER did to my old Supra. Dual pass intercoolers are a no no, and that's information that I didn't find until years after I fitted one of these piles of garbage. I remember when I dynoed the Supra... It made 280whp and 360 ft lbs of...
Take this from a guy who went from a mk3 Supra to a C6... Best.. decision.. of my life. Reliability, performance, fuel economy, its ALL there. And they aren't exactly expensive anymore. I picked up my 2006 3LT 6sp LS2 car for 18k after I traded in the Supra. Made a couple of double payments and...
So, the damndest thing happened today.. I was at the post office in my Corvette, and low and behold... a red mk3 supra pulls up. I notice the tint, the clear turn signals.. Wait a second.. That's my old car! Turns out a kid I went to highschool with bought it. It also turns out this kid lives...
In any case there's a SMOKING deal for a low mile Supra with plenty of mods and zero rust for 5 grand in Nebraska. You can probably even get a warranty on it!

They're asking less than they bought it for! I dunno why, and I'm not sure I want to figure out why... 😭😭😭

Fwiw I still drive past the lot where the Supra is sitting and just stare at the old girl.
It pisses me off though. There was hardly a swirl in the paint, and they must have tried buffing it. Swirls EVERYWHERE

Well guys, not sure if anyone is even following this thread anymore but it's definitely the end of an era. I've been in the Supra game since I was 15 years old. While you guys have given me a home away from home, it's time for me to move on. I'll still lurk around on here I'm sure, but now that...
Its for sale, you can buy it! Cleanest one in the Midwest. In the meantime though, I'll enjoy more comfortable seats, more power, better fuel economy and (arguably) better looks. Not saying by any means that the Supra is a bad car. I love it. I always will. I just needed to turn a page in my...
It's not the crank being out of balance. It's the explosions that are forcing it to spin that cause the inherent vibrations.

It's not so much the weight, but the fact that it's rubber. It absorbs the vibrations essentially. There's a real street video that explains it.

Take that crank pulley off. You need the damping characteristics of the stock pulley, or better yet, an ATI.
For me, I just ordered a set of Tein Flex coilovers, with rubber upper shock mounts. If anyone is looking for coilovers, DM has a really good deal on flexes. $1050 or something like...
Anybody planning on going? I'll be there both days with my 89. Thought it'd be pretty slick for a bunch of Supras to roll in...

I've rebuilt turbos in the past, and am very well versed in that side of things. Thank you for your input though! 😁
I talked to my instructor about it today, and we came up with an idea to sketch out the radius using the compressor wheel (Garrett T04E 57 trim should be here soon...)...
