Just wanted to let Jboyle know for the record your not the only one running this setup. I have had 440's with the lex afm for the last 5 years. Of course i raised the fuel in the process but only with a holley 255 and a resistor to the iat. Kept an eye on my air/fuel ratios of course but never...
Put it on pretty tight but im wondering since it was a rebuilt from autozone if the spray paint clogged up the threads not allowing me to fully tighten? So you have successfully replaced it without the tape?
Replaced the power steering pump and the vaccuum port is leaking terrible where it threads into back of pump. Should plumbers tape be used on threads??
Small shim? Sounds like that could be the "spacer" I was referring to. Its about an eighth of an inch thick with the bolt pattern of the crank. Confused now, just mounted the tranny but not completely done. Not too late to take back out to put "spacer/shim" back in. Hate to have to do this...
Had the same issue with my auto. One of two things. Clogged filter.... or time to rebuild tranny. Had to rebuild three times. Installing r154 this time.
You are right about cold air is more dense than warm air but because the air is more dense when its cold, you get more bang for your buck. What i mean is, a cylinder of cold air will have more air in it than a cylinder of the exact same size of hot air. The ecu knows this and when detects colder...
The resistor is hooked up to the mass air flow which is also together with the air intake temp sensor. It sends a false reading of the air temp to the ecu which thinks its much colder outside which in return sends more fuel to the injectors. Since the lexus afm housing is 25% larger or so it...
Not leaning out at all. I also did another mod that has had a lot of debate... did away with the egr valve and made a block plate and she runs great. As a matter of fact just smoked the new gto 6.0 the other day. Some people talk about all the risks, while others test the facts and make it to...
Hasn't grenaded for the past four years under 22lbs of boost but my A304e has twice. Lol but that is thanks to a transmission shop who considered me paying for a complete rebuild only consist of replacing the torque converter.
To answer your original question, i have been running 440 s with the lexus afm for the past 4 years. The only exception as far as more fuel, i installed a holley 255 fuel pump. Have a narrow band and a garrett gt 35 turbo and a resistor hooked up to mafs
Yeah, i do have the lexus afm. Thanks for the help. I could have got them for a hundred bucks so thought it would be worth my while. Thanks for not letting me make a hundred dollar mistake though.
Thanks for the quick responses. The reason I asked is because found some for sale that came out of a 94 supra turbo but they are aftermarket 725cc and the guy sent me a pic and they are top feed. Wasnt his car that they came from and didnt know if they were low or high impendence. So other than...
To conclude my post going egrless with an adjustable resistor, it has worked out great. Fuel mixture hasnt ran lean yet and after cleaning intake manifold from 23 years of soot from exhaust, it purrs like cat. Which in comparison to before, it was more like a sick cat
