as far as the engine sounding like a lawnmower, I had a similar problem where the engine had a miss and it sounded really bad. What my issue was and still is, the distributor shaft has an internal seal and it is leaking a bit, so slowly but surely the oil doesnt allow for the spark to transfer...
suprarx7nut Dumb question, but you're sure the o-rings isn't leaking, correct?
yes I am sure it is not the o-ring, not a dumb question because someone out there might not have checked that.
cuel- I am not brave enough since it is the only car I can drive right now, but in about a week or...
umm isn't that tool used to show the intensity of spark....and well maybe it will show if there is ANY spark at all, which I think could help you in your search for a solution. correct me if I am wrong because I don't know much.
I have read on the forums about the distributors leaking internally (also happens to turbo Cam Pos. sensor). does anyone know if there is another solution to the leak other than purchasing a NEW toyota distributor or aftermarket replacement? I performed a search and came up with this...
I am going to be guessing that the 3.5 is off of the later year LS1 like 2001, according to some info I read in 2001 the LS1 received a higher flowing intake.....thats a guess though, based off this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_LS_engine#LS1
ok, So I guess I will try to research which LS-1 MAF I need, I called Chevy and they looked one up off a 99 something for like $200, that's why I am wondering which application is cheapest and correct for our cars.
I am fairly new...very new to electrical Mods on the supra NA. My question is which LS1 MAF did you use? I know the LS1 motors came in many GM vehicles as well as year spread. Which would be the one to use?
Supramacist: Yes it flows better than stock, for me anyways because I was California Emissions, the header eliminated my first cat and the high flow replaced the second cat. I dynoed the car shortly after for a gain of about 14HP and about 15TQ.....this also included a custom cold air intake...
I have the Pacesetter Header and I have done so much to make it work....it doesn't look anything like it did originally. First I had to saw off a bit of the front of the flange to clear the water outlet under the dizzy, I then had the slip flange welded together, then where the pipes turn from...

parts people go by part numbers, the slightest etching that would make toyota issue a different part number would make the parts guy say that they are different. Sometimes We wish toyota would give us specs and certain information on parts, but at last they never do it all depends on the parts...
now that we have succesfully argued the pros and cons for about 5 pages, maybe someone can point me in the right direction as far as proper installation of electric fans. I live in Las Vegas and we all know it is hotter than hell out here. another thing I read here was having the fans running...
