    2J Response Build

I'm having fun now! Yea, definitely more fun when it's running :biglaugh:. Today: I dropped the head, block, crank and cams off at the machine shop today. Took them to a place called G&G Performance in Tomball, TX. Very nice people and have experience with 7M's and 2J's. They are going...

    2J Response Build

Well, I made quite a bit of progress today. I got tired of waiting on the machine shop, so I picked the motor up and got it done. About 30 mins of hammering that Crank Pulley Bolt and it cam loose! I then drilled out the center of the two stripped head bolts, hammered a T60 Socket into it and...

    2J Response Build

Well, I worked on the bay a little today. Removed all of the AC Components, not going back in with it. My AC has never worked, but the targa has been plenty. I also got a few other parts off.

Went ahead and did the Photobucket route so I could post more than five pics per reply. I also added a shit-ton of pics!

    2J Response Build

I threaded some pretty strong bolts into the back of the crank and placed a pipe in between them and against the motor stand cast arm. At that point, the crank pulley couldn't budge when trying to remove the bolt. I had a 5' pipe on it, put all my weight into it; felt like I was going to make...

    2J Response Build

Thanks Suprahero! I'm gonna need it :icon_bigg. Well, today I wanted to have the motor completely apart but ran into two issues. First of all, everything on this motor was put together from Toyota with the mindset of it never coming off. The crank pulley bolt would not budge! I tried...

    Name That Sensor!

Wow, I couldn't find that page for anything Nosechunks. Mine is a 5 Speed. Left sensor looks to be the AC Relay, not keeping the AC on my swap.... so that one is easy to toss. I already removed the stock boost sensor, and according to the page you posted, the vertical black deal is the...

    2J Response Build

Disclaimer: This will be a very picture intensive thread! Well, I am finally in a position to start working on the car again. I am the 2nd owner and got it as a Birthday present when I was 16, now 24. Needless to say this was my first car to own and work on! I had it for all of maybe 2...

    Name That Sensor!

Alright, I am in the first stages of a 2J swap(Will be starting a build thread soon). For the sake of cleaning up the engine bay I am doing away with anything that isn't absolutely needed. There are a couple that I am unsure of and after searching through the TSRM still confused. Any ideas...

2JZGE-T powered by 7M/HKS VPC Electronics

Nice, I thought of something though; if I'm shooting for 500-550 RWHP I'll be pushing the 550's. I'd have to source a 6xxcc chip, if they make em. Edit: Well, on the other hand; I might be better off just getting a MAP-ECU for a tad more than I'll find VPC. That way I can use some 6XXcc...

2JZGE-T powered by 7M/HKS VPC Electronics

I have been reading the NA-T threads and have a pretty good understanding about getting my 2JZGE-T going. However, I was wondering if anyone has their 2J powered by 7M Electronics with an HKS VPC? I already have an Apexi SAFC, New 7M Wiring Harness w/ Sensors, so if the VPC could work I'd be...

    Staggered Head Work

Nice, hard to find people who have been out this way :). I didn't even bother to look for a machine shop in Del Rio ;), I was in College Station at the time of that post. I'm now in Oregon visiting relatives. I take it Suprarich can do machine work? Searching username. Thanks!

    speedometer

The speedometer is mechanically driven from the transmission. The cable could be broken, seized from being crushed, or disconnected where it threads to the back right of the tranny. If that isn't the problem could be the cable connection behind the gauge cluster.
