I ran a search but couldn't find anything-how would one go about disassembling the taillight? I assume it has the same sealant as my old Lexus did; I put the light in the oven to heat it up and soften the sealant and then it came apart. Anyone ever tried this?
Hmm...well I can't test anything until I can remember to pick up a 9V battery for my tester. Whenever I do, though, I think I'll check the resistance across the solenoid, and re-test the operation just to be sure before moving on to anything else. Toyota quoted me $700 for the assembly as a...
Alright...I had that coming. Guess that's what I get for multi-tasking :3d_frown:
I just checked the solenoid valve as per TSRM. I wasn't able to check the continuity cause my tester is dead, but I did do the other test and wasn't able to make it click when connected to battery...
Alright, so this goes out to anyone who's had ABS/PPS problems. My ABS light has been on ever since I've owned the car, and my steering has always been too stiff at low RPM's/idle. Looking through the service records, I found a receipt from '02 where the PO took the car to Toyota and...
Picked up my 92 teal/shadow gray turbo targa M/T w/186k for $2800 about a year ago w/BHG. Drove it for a week before it was toast. Invested ~700 on a Felpro HG/upper gasket set and had her back on the road. Since then, put ~30k on her and the car (as well as the HG) are startin to show their...
Well, I discovered why my seatbelt wasn't working right; one corner of the casing around the pendulum mechanism had somehow come loose, allowing the components inside to come somewhat loose. After looking it over, I put the components back, fixed the casing, and did the road test and it's back...
I greatly appreciate all of the replies guys. I'd just like to say that I'm not attempting to fix the car by posting on the internet-only trying to go into the project with an educated guess as to what I'll find/should look for, since I've never tackled suspension work on this car; I think this...
That was my presumption, but I haven't had the chance to jack it up and check it out just yet. Just trying to figure out what's common so I know what to look for. I've never done suspension work before, so I hope whatever's broken is a relatively easy/cheap fix...
So, I'm trying to solve a rear suspension issue that I've had for about a month. The problem is that when I hit a bump or uneven pavement, it sounds as though I've got a loose component, blown strut, or worn out bushing of somekind on the right rear side. Looking at the TSRM diagram, my...
I'd be interested to know what the "comfort lever" does, as my seatbelt no longer retracts, and I noticed tonight that it doesn't catch if jerked. Which means the ABS, SRS AND seatbelts in my car are all malfunctioning....why is safety so effing expensive!? :3d_frown:
Well...my car meets 1/2 those requirements-it's a teal/shadow gray 92 turbo targa TEMS ABS 5spd. ...and I installed a subwoofer...so where's that put mine? haha
Did I mention that money talks?
I actually used one of the circuits in the fuse panel that wasn't labelled and didn't have a fuse in it, but I found that it was hot w/the IGN switch in the ACC or ON position (which means no danger of accidentally leaving them on w/the car off). I plan on using the same one for my stereo, with...
To make a long story short, I hate the fact that it's 16 years old and the fact that I couldn't have it when I was it's age. Then again, we'd probably both be dead if that were the case.
The way I look at it is, if my motor's got 212k on it, and it's been run on 87 it's entire life, and it runs no differently the couple times I've put premium in it, I'm not gonna spend the extra cash for premium. Every car I've ever owned called for premium and I've never once had a...
20, but been after one since I was about 12 when dad got his 2nd Supra (he'd had an 82 Celica, an 85 S Type, then the 88 NA M/T targa). The 88 was the first car I ever drove and I think it started there haha.
1st car was a hand-me down 92 ES300 w/150 on the clock, but I'd done everything cept...
Well, I got it running again today. I ended up patching the accordion hose. I think it'll be fine until/if I decide to buy a new one.
Other than that, I went ahead and replaced my air filter and added a few hose clamps on critical items that had the stock ones and it would SEEM that I've got...
