Thanks for the responses guys.
CRE I plan on going back into the car Friday afternoon. Toyota wont have a gasket until Tuesday, local parts store can have a Fel-Pro and Beck-Arnley tomorrow. They said they would order both and let me have a leak. But I am beginning to think I may have a...
I know this is the return line for the coolant through the TB and ISC. But I am having a heck of a time trying to get this sealed after replacing my BHG. I used a cheap set of no name gaskets (I know this is my first problem). But I have checked with Fel-Pro, Beck-Arnley, and Toyota and none...
I just got back from SD. The car performed great, very comfortable freeway cruiser. Only problem was my plastic undertray ripped itself off at 80mph. My front bumper was trashed before I even got the car, so the undertray was never attached there.
But anyway, back to the TPS... The car is...
I sprayed carb cleaner directly on all of the vacuum lines and diaphram. It was all good. I get the carb cleaner stumble when I spray around the #6 cylinder the intake side. I didnt try spraying from underneath the manifold though. So it could be an injector not seated to the head properly...
well, I lied...
My idle is at 1000 and 1200 with the AC on. The TPS and the ISC are both functioning properly. When the car was idling at 600-700 yesterday I did set the timing to 10 degrees. I hear a hissing near the back of the motor on the intake side. When I spray some carb cleaner...
Long story short: Read the TSRM it really will answer most of your questions. And thanks to everyone who reminds us SupraNOOBS that its there.

So I was trying to figure out my high idle. I got the car for...
Sorry to dig this up but I have my cluster out of the car and need to adjust my speedo. Its reading about 4-5 mph high.
My question is, do I need to completly remove everything from the back of the cluster? The green circuit board plastic, and all of that? Or is there an easier way?
Ok guys, I just rpelaced my ISC, im not throwing any codes. But my idle is around 1000-1200 during normal operation. Ive done all of the high idle checks in the TSRM and Haynes manual. Back when I first got this running after a BHG, I had to rpelace the TPS sensor. I knw the TPS is...
ok thanks guys. I will try cleaning it out, since it does click, but it doesnt seem to move.
Anyone have one availble? Dealer wants $500 for a new one...and thats more money than I have in the car...
Thanks again

Hello all,
I have an 88 N/A Supra, 5 speed with a high idle (steady 1200 rpms or so).
Going through the diagnosis I came to the ISC Valve. I dont hear any clicking from the valve after shutting off the motor. So I pulled it out for a benchtest. All of the ohms are good at about 25 ohms...
Thank you all for the replys. I think its the motor but cant get at the connections. Its not a fuse as far as I can tell because everything else adjusts.
TOM, I tried your idea about turning the screw, but I cant get a good enough grip on it in the car.
Not sure where to put this question so I thought I would start here.
The motor that moves the front edge of the drivers seat is not working in my 88. There is nothing under the seat. Is there a trick I can use to adjust it until I can get a replacement motor? Like a screw or bolt similar...
The metal screw in part is still in the block. But the green plastic that is attached broke off when I was trying to disconnect it. The green plastic part is still attached to the green plug of the wiring harness.
Is the NA knock sensors the same as the turbo knock sensor?
Can they be repaired? I pulled the green connector and wire out of the block and the plastic glued to the metal came with it. The metal part that screws into the block is still in the block.
Anyone have an extra NA sensor in...
Hey guys, sorry for bringing an old thread like this back...
I am having the same problem with my car...It was a free car and most of the interior is missing, including the hazard switch. Is there any kind of work-around for the hazard switch/turn signal not working?
Ok guys, first post here, new to the Supra's.
I got this free 88 non-Turbo, 5 speed. Odo says 200k miles. Timing belt cover has a sticker saying the belt was changed at 70k.
The car runs and drives great, now that I fixed a few things and did a normal tune-up.
I passed emissions...
