It sure is a good idea. Turn the crank bolt so the match marks are straight up and inline. Then you will know it is wrong before starting another thread on SM saying it doesn't run right.
You never mentioned how you drive the car, meaning you have the accelerator pedal to the floor at every stop. You should have no problem getting-18 mpg with city driving only- driving like a normal human being.
How many fuel leaks are under the car?
If the primary is open, you will not get IGf.
And of course the car will not run without a pick up signal. Have you checked DTCs? I think you might see 12 or 14. This assumes all your hook ups from the swap are correct.

Many an EFI car with a K&N FIPK has had a problem with a fan clutch causing an idle problem when exposed and not enclosed.
A better idea is go to a dyno with a four gas analyzer and see what happens going in and out in small increments. You don't need a five gas, but it is fine if they do. And they do have one, or they could not tell you A/F.
