also... compared to the headache/cost to redoing a headgasket because you cut one corner...
For Celica?
These are the rims I was talking about... I was seriously considering them... They are gorgeous!

Just never saw if they could make them 5 bolt...
I was referring to the original build thread. If I recall right the car had some cheap fake caps on the calipers, but thought he had already bought brembos...
I would love those...
If you got the money, there is a place in the US that makes custom MKII Style rims to your spec.. but I think its cheaper to get Work wheels... lol.
Sucks that the starions are so small, I would love an 18" set.
Didn't you at one point have the Brembo BBK for your car?
Maintenance isn't bad now. Once my new turbo is on, I will just do a yearly oil change and have my guys go over the car.. it will be fine. Mine isn't a track car mind you.. just a weekend warrior driver with a lot of good old fashion power... :)
My car is paid off as well (I prepped cashwise for it), and I have bought/sold Supras and car parts along the way to help fund the addiction. However, in the end, I pay 8.00 per month for full insurance on it.. I drive it on nice days and enjoy the hell out of it as I can.
Its kinda like a...
This thread has led me back to the Arizona (Andy) Performance BBK's he has for the MK3.. forgot about those. Pricing is amazing compared to other BBK's... plus I could keep the parking brake.. :)
I think what figgie is saying... Is that your cutting corners the hard way.
I have done that and regret everytime I have. It's always been more money/cost/headache.
Found the 4 pot calipers, only knew about the 2's before. It looks like you may be trail blazing though, but doesn't look that...
Cost is definitely a Factor... I have asked myself... "when do you throw in the towel and just buy a C7 vette?".
The one thing that drives me though.. is the car itself. To me it isn't about the power, it isn't about resale. Its about fulfilling one dream I had to sacrifice as a single parent...
Rockauto is terrible??? wtf?
I have saved a ton of money on there. All you have to do is know what your looking for (no Napa guy to help you...)
Replaced my Tundra headlights (both sides, full lens and lights) for 50.00. It costs me 25.00 to replace just the light here...
Bought AISIN master...
Motul Synthetic.. no idea if its 10W30 or 5W30... lol. My mechanic doesn't tell me these things...
Toyota 7M OEM oil filter. (until I get around to doing an oil filter relocate...)
Don't recall ever seeing the Alltrac brakes being used on a MK3... I currently run stock calipers with Brembo rotors (I think slotted/drilled are just silly). A BBK is my end goal, but they aren't critical quite yet because of how I drive.
Be interesting to see if you find a solution like...
Go with what's trusted.. Lol.
I did a used turbo... Wasted 1600.00...
Quite honestly.. if I would do this all again (too bad I cant backtrack), I would seriously go with the following:
1000 cc Injectors (Injector Dynamics)
T4 Garrett Turbo (3" vband with a .68 AR) double ball bearing
T4 Mani...
