Long-ass build. I love that car btw. My second car was a 72 Corolla.. and if I had it today, I would have a 7M in it.. lol. :)
Hopefully this gets up and running to much fanfare and cheers!
Is this an exercise in aesthetics or are you also trying to achieve something aerodynamically? I've noticed you shifted your focus so it's not only looks but also performance. Just wondering if you've achieved all your goals or if your trying to see how far you can stretch?
I don't mess with my oil cooler simply because I am not a huge fan of altering anything that may fail and kill the engine. If I can monitor it... then we're green lights and bubblegum.
I hear the pressure thing lots. I shimmed my pump and the gauge shows no real change. However... I know whats going on and shimming is a good thing if done correctly. You want higher flow as opposed to oil pressure. Pressure is caused by resistance to flow... and resistance to flow is caused by...
My final comment here.. Just to share a thought...
Having purchased many new vehicles over the years and eating the depreciation when driving off the lot, a good perspective to keep in regards to the mkiii is that unless you kill it, the car will generally hold its value. (if not actually...
Definitely a small market, plus... A bank is not willing to loan money on this car... So you need someone with cash and/or a good line of credit. Still, I wouldn't part with my car for under 30k which reinforces my "never sell" policy.
Truth should never be edited.
My brain is asking, for normal application (considering the Toyota engineering dept), this would help but is a lot of work for little gain?
For your application it would be totally necessary or you would risk too high pressure (too little flow) at the higher RPM...
Yeah, I wasted 3500.00 on the first bit of rust repair, only to have to have it redone. Then I wasted money on R&R a dead 57 trim ct26... Followed by wasting more money on stepping up to T4... And buying a used turbo that didn't function on my car...
All my stupid costs were based on learning...
Gratz!!
Mine is paid for... But I have a few thou left on the credit card for the massive amount if upgrades... Lol.
Someday I have to figure out how much I have spent... Ir maybe not...
I love your car.. lol. Its like my cars sister :)
2 thoughts... one.. its just a car. As a MK3 "enthusiast" that's a silly thing to say, but that is the reality. Emotionally I am attached to my car... practically its not a smart car to be attached to for various reasons (most relating to...
Stupid question perhaps.. but your turbo oil input line is not clocked correctly is it? (not in car, so I am assuming not final clocking... I would think should be at 12:00)
