get the steel flange and have it welded to a new ic pipe. you can replace the hard plastic pipe above your accordion hose with a piece of aluminized steel.

89 and before, supposedly there were about 6 different key patterns, so i've been told. fortunately no one in my local group has a key that will start my car and vice versa.
turn off boost controller and see what happens.
i'm willing to bet it's an i/c hose and if you have some stock ones left, check the one that connects to the turbo, it is infamous for splitting.
unfortunately i won't be making it this year,since i went to houston this year. it would be nice to see some of the same guys and meet new ones. and the trip was 15 hours straight there and another 15 back. wasn't the event in october last year?
air leak, check your intake gaskets. you can have someone try to keep it running at a constant rpm while you spray something like carb cleaner on the gaskets and notice high rpm's if it leaks
