Everything is there, but we cant get this 7MGE to start

Did you verify that the #1 piston is at TDC with the crank pointing at zero? Use a small diameter wooden dowel about a foot long in the spark plug hole - as the crank is turned, dowel height should max at the damper zero index. The dizzy should be pointing at the #1 plug wire contact.

Check to make sure the ECU grounds in the intake manifold are secure. Sure the cam timing is not 180 degs out? (easy to do)

    Idling Help Need....

You did: "Checked Timing - Set to 10 Degrees" That's impossible with a code 51 :)

Does the CEL come on when the key is turned on?

    Idling Help Need....

Look at the TSRM cause for code 51 - it's the IDL signal from the TPS which tells the ECU to go into idle mode. It needs to be fixed before you do anything else - you cannot set timing and the ISVC will not work at idle until you do. The TB plate should be full closed at idle. If you have a...

    All Seals Redone..still leakinG?!

Most parts stores will have a kit or just buy a bottle of the dye and a UV flash light off eBay. You can Google both as well to come up with a bunch of vendors for these products. Tracerline is one of the bigger names - they sell a kit that includes dye for the AC, coolant, and oil plus a...

You can, but I'd try to tighten the filter up 1st.

    All Seals Redone..still leakinG?!

CPS O-ring, turbo feed, oil filter, oil cooler lines. Are you sure it's motor oil and not P/S fluid? Could easily be what's left on the outside of the motor from the leak - do what supraguy said. If it's an active leak, get some UV dye (made for oil) and a UV light. Run for a couple days...

    Trying to fix code 14

Might want to check the CPS wiring and connector as well.

    Timing questions

Sounds like the CPS was installed off 1 tooth to me ;) When you get that right, set your timing to 10 degs with the light.

Ok, having a few issues. Jerking/rough idle..

There's a huge difference between setting cam timing (damper pointing at zero with both cam gear index marks pointing at the rear cover index - #1 piston at TDC), setting base timing (with the diag block jumped and a light) and how the ECU advances/retarts timing based on engine parameters...

    lsd

LOL - You damn sure didn't try very hard. This subject has been beat to death. Also, what does this thread have to do with 7M-GTE Tech? Thread moved to the General section. I don't know what manual you are looking at, but the TSRM and the car manual says 80W or 90W depending on OAT...it...

    Shim oil pump or not?

That pump was already shimmed - might want to get a new spring from Toyota and check the clearances on that "low mileage" pump. 5mm is plenty.

    Fuel Pressure VSV

That would be correct - take a look at this: http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=FI&P=116 Under power the VSV vents to atmosphere (through the filter), the same as if you disconnected the vac line to the FPR, thus causing a FP increase. Power off, the VSV allows vac to...

    Fuel Pressure VSV

All an AFPR does is allow some basic tuning ability...i.e. setting base fuel pressure for a given injector size. The Fuel pressure up VSV functions exactly as JJ described - it is a benefit regardless of the plenum used. All it needs is a plenum vac source. The VSV nipple next to the filter...

    7mgte block build help

If it's not verified, then what is the point? Regardless of whether you point it out or not, this is exactly where "I heard" comes from and increases workload for the moderators...not to mention what it does for the OP's quest for a correct answer. Do us all a favor and just don't post "I...

    7mgte block build help

You guys should really refrain from posting in the tech section unless you are 100% sure. The 6M crank is not "very unbalanced" - it has 2 less counterweights than the 7M and is lighter as a result - that is why it's red line is higher than the 7M crank. It did came on the earlier model cars -...

I'll give these guys a call Monday - I called all over town and missed this one somehow. If they have the disc Ian, it's a 30-40 min drive.
