Looks like my turbo is a goner, what are some good options?

I just talked with them this morning... they are all still available including the 6262 in journal and BB. But they all have 4-5 werk lead times at best, nothing instock:-( I guess I'm going with a 57 trim CT-26. At my power goals and running pump gas, a larger turbo would probably be overkill...

    AEM V2 install questions

Hey guys, Does anyone have a pinout handy for the 30-6050 AEM V2 7mgte 87-89? I bought this thing forever ago and just installed and am wiring it up. I need to make sure Im correct on where to wire the MAP, IAT and UEGO leads. The internet has lots for the V1, but I am having trouble...

    Knock sensor question

Something to check as well... make sure the sensors are tight into the block. I rewired a long time ago and then 52 came back... after rechecking all the wiring and trying to remove the rear knock clip, I discovered it was loose. Tightened it up and code went away and hasnt come back...

Looks like my turbo is a goner, what are some good options?

Thanks for the input. Yah, I have been leaning towards the SP bolt-on as I think it would be easiest given my time frame and setup. I don't have a solid goal persay, but if I could run low 400s rwhp i would be very happy. So in your opinion whats the advantage of going for the 6262 over the...

Looks like my turbo is a goner, what are some good options?

Hey Guys, It's been a long while since I have posted, but I am getting back into the Supra as of late and been fixing and tracking down a few issues. I have been running a CT-26 60-1 Trim for the last 10 years, I had it rebuilt about 5 years ago and the car has around 2000 miles on it since...

Coilover Options? (Chinese brands need not apply)

I installed a set of Tein Street Advance coilovers with the EDFC Active controller a few months ago and I have been very pleased. On setting 16, they are pillow-ey soft. They firm up very nicely around 8. I usually run 8 in the front and 6 in the back. I am very happy with my decision as I...

    Broke R154, Advice?

Sounds like the 1st gear thrust washer broke, pretty common on a stock R154. I snapped mine into 4-5 pieces. Lost the same gears you are mentioning above. I shipped mine out to Marlin Crawler, my transmission is actually the one they have pictured for their R154 "race" package. They did an...

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

Well that would make sense. Of course its always the simplest of items that cause the biggest of problems. KISS rule kicks my ass again... lol

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

I figured I would update this as it appears my problem is fixed now :) Two weekends ago I went ahead and used my DMM to test my harness. No continuity was present between the lead wires and ground, and I was getting 1.6V with the EFI fuse in and when the ECU has power. I went ahead and...

Need clutch advice as well as good tuner in NOVA

I am using an ACT Stage III and 6 puck disc. It has never slipped and has been great for the last 20K miles. It was however very stiff the first 5k or so. It was very much an "in or out" setup. But it will definitely handle the power. Really the only way IMO to get stock feel with the clamping...

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

Yah, I plan to test the wiring this weekend for continuity and to make sure I don't have some of the shielding touching the main wire anywhere. Then I am going to start swapping sensors and hopefully that fixes my issues. I'll report back when I get some of these test done. Thanks for the help...

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

I haven't had the time to play with the many combinations of items that could be wrong, nor do I want to buy two new sensors when something else could be at fault (the wiring or the ecu). The biggest issue is a can't repeat the symptoms since I swapped the new sensor into the front spot. No...

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

It could be the connectors I suppose, I would assume mine are from an 87 or 88 as I got them from Jeff at Champion when I redid the wiring... I guess I need to track down some 87/88 knocks to test. And I may have to hit Shaeff up for a wiring harness.

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

Ok so this picture is of the grey connector KS I removed and the green connector KS that is the mate to the one I installed. So it seems I have two sets of KSs, one set from the 87/88 and one set from the 89+. But could that be the issue? It seems like we don't all agree that there is a...

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

I'll have to snap a picture of the one I installed and the one I removed. I'll report back. Also, I may try threading in a third sensor as suggested, even though that would probably mess with the knock metering? Thanks again for all the helpful replies.

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

Hmm. So there isnt a way to really test them with any certainty off of the car. And the best way to rule out sensors is to link two connectors or ks1 and ks2 to one sensor and drive it? Also, can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between the 87/88 and the 89+ sensors? The pair I got...

Ok. Does anyone know the correct resistance range? Thanks for the reply.

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

Is there a way to tell what year the sensors are from? I couldn't get the light to come on this afternoon even after driving it for quite some time on the freeway at cruise, under wot, around neighborhoods, idling... This certainly is perplexing... Thanks for the tips and replies, your time...

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

Interesting. Is there a way to test them without screwing them into the block? Just having them connected to the harness and ECU? I guess the variation in RPM might be the weak link to that method... I would just buy two new sensors, but I hate throwing money at a problem, when it could be...

Code 52 doesn’t leave me alone

I left it alone. I figured I would need to swap one at a time to rule out the problem. Unless both sensors are intermittent. When I swapped the front and the CEL stayed off I assumed that the front sensor must have been on its way out. But now I still get the code 52, however it doesn't throw...
