there are 3 lsd ratios afaik...3.73:1 and 3.91:1 in turbo cars and then a 4.30:1 in the NA sport package
jack the rear of your car up, put it in neutral then spin the driveshaft once, the corresponding number of times the wheels spin is the ratio
The Problem: I have a mysterious code that keeps popping up and I have no idea why. It will come on at random (though recently it has been almost every time I drive the car). It doesnt seem to be caused by any circumstances like hard acceleration or sudden throttle changes. Even when I had...
i prefer 4...makes for a more round answer....cause if you say 7 its prime and you cant be like "well i was off by a factor of 2" lol
this is also why we had 7* of static camber in our 2008 FSAE car:
-"Hey, how much camber should we run?"
-"7"
wow, congratulations, you and push realized the same thing toyota did years ago...the 7M (unless taken care of) can be an unreliable engine
however, toyota (being the smart automaker they were) decided "hey, lets make a better engine and move forward" and thus the JZ series...
if you dont have...
Hey boys and girls, I am looking to trade my good condition 4.30 LSD for one with a lower reduction. I would prefer a 3.73, but the 3.91 would be fine as well. Basically, I have an '87 NA sport package and the gears are too much for me when I have to commute from the East End of Louisville to...
haha, i wouldnt say ive babied it! the ring break-in was done correctly, revs and all! its pretty much done breaking in, the only thing left is a pair of oil changes up to 1K miles to where all the assembly lube and other crap is flushed out...i really only baby it when its cold so i dont scuff...
Ive been somewhat waiting to post this, so that barring any immediate problems my car wouldn't be down when I post the "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" lol...
Well, she's back on the road! One more MKIII has been resurrected from the dead and given turbocharged life! Still a few things left to do...
Yeah, I had a lot of machining done on my block plus forged rods and pistons so I could do the high power. I still havent decided whether I want to do the high revving yet so the valvetrain is still stock as is the rest of the car. But you have to cool 2J swap factor lol
and i jizzed in my pants....
god you make me wish i had the $$ to go 2J in my car, just a beautiful swap...but i will be satisfied if my built 7M will get about the same power as you...
And now the new pictures since I've gotten the motor in, plus plenty more stuff. Car should be able to start and rev this weekend. Then swapping in the power steering rack (love how stuff breaks as you are almost done) should have it to the DMV monday or tuesday so we can break it in over...
As a rule when we converted to E-85 on our FSAE car, we used the standard fuel multiplication factor on the AFR's to 1.6 times more fuel. This is what your wideband will read instead of normal. Basically, you have to dump 1.6 times as much fuel (estimated) into the combustion chamber. The...
i will not be there, but supraguru05 will be there for the drag racing as well as a couple other guys (an LS2 GTO and possibly a VR-T GTI)..have fun, wish i could go
there is a BP (i think) off 65 south in louisville by UPS that sells E85, we had to use it at SCCA events when we had an old formula sae car running on E85 for a while...as for any others i have no idea
