Some thing else you could "try" is to helicoil it. It would be cheaper then repainting a new targa

If you are forced to drive it get your self a set of blizzak winter tires, or any winter tires. They make the world of a difference. It is the only thing I can use on my to get threw the snow in the winter. Summer tires, I get stuck with 1" of snow on the ground.
