Went to CFT Mustang dyno to see what the 1J twins can do. Very happy with the numbers considering it's untuned and with only BPU. :icon_bigg
1st = 285/304 (hp/tq) at 10 psi
2nd = 294/309 (hp/tq) ... watched the boost gauge went to 12 psi and stayed there.
The dyno ops said it ran rich...
I look at this way this 20 year old car can still run with the majority of the newer sports car out there and STILL turns heads and wonder "is that a corvette"?

The stock FMIC is BIG. I use it but you know BIG does not always mean better. As long as its efficient it should work. 2.5 piping is widely used you can go bigger like 3" but I hear you'll loose low end power. BIC is making FMIC kit for 1J. I believe it is a 2.5 pipe with precision intercooler...
Well got the ss v3 installed and it is ~F....N~ AWESOME. Not saying NM isn't good or anything since have not tried it but the V3 quality is TOP notch and the short flick of a wrist throw is unbelievable and tight.
Gotta love it...
why go cheap ? find a reputable importer (Jarco, JHOT, DM)... and go for a front clip. You'll never have to source any parts whatsoever since everything is included. Trust me... you won't regret it. It will be expensive though but in the end it pays off.
not sure but I know they are lighter than the saw blades. I know one thing for sure the car feels more planted now with the 25 offset. It hugs the road great and the steering feels more stable.
here it is...
installed autometer boost gauge and oh yeah my SS V3 shifter. The V3 is the SHIT... FUCKING AWESOME, prolly my best mods so far...well that and the 1J.
And finally SAWBLADES no more y0 > MB Wheels Competition 16x8 25 offset perfect fit...
good luck with the fresh swap...here's my thing like most of us twins that have never done it before...who the !f..k! cares how long it takes to remove the damn thing just take your time and do it right and don't rush it. If it takes you 2 or 8 hours so be it. just my 2 cents.
