look at the pics of the chopped up targa model earlier in this post... i'd say that is concrete evidence if anything is.... however... the targa top still allows the chassis to flex... so IMO caged out hardtop FTW
you'd be surprised.... i went from a 89 targa turbo (fully loaded) to a base model '87 hardtop with the whole drivetrain from the '89.... i was very pleased with the difference it made... if you ask me, i'd say the difference is phenomenal... but that's just my $.02 IMO the '89 felt like a...

well here are the possible reasons...
-the car is not ready to go to the drag strip
-the car is too nice (matter of oppinion)
-or the owner just doesn't give a shit about drag racing

i picked supra, because you would neglect to make any power mods on the miata.... i've got a 97 mustang 281 sittin around waitin to go in a miata... HAHA
you gotta have some fun, right?
6,4xx rpm 7mgte 3.73 rear end (160ish) 12psi stock everything aside from safc, pvc intercooler pipes, bic ddp, and 3.5" exhaust(waiting for t-66 and built motor)
and 135 in the n/a :D
i still have my OE filter in my '87 that's seen over 220k miles of n/a use, and now it's got a turbo 7m... the tank has NEVER been dropped. soon to put in 255 lph pump and new filter though :D... car feels strong enough to be making 300ish whp w/ the stock turbo (12 psi, tuned)
two 5 speed turbo targas (87, 89)
one n/a 5 speed hardtop (87) <--- now has drivetrain from the '89 turbo
so far i've had a supra for every year since age 17 (20 now)
