    From Porsche to Toyota

I got a 944 n/a, its a fun car. Neutral balance for corners and still takes a lot of cars :) Working on it requires more patience as its harder to get to things though you don't have to be as creative about it. Have fun with it, just stay on top of your maintainance

What are you eating for breakfast:

I'd die if I ate as little or nothing in the morning as what I see here. I like french toast eggs bacon coffee, but that lasts me til 10am if I'm eating at 7am. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR WORK THAT CALLS FOR SUCH SMALL APPETITES???

Does any one use a Random Technology hi flow cat?

I put in a metal substrate R/T 3" cat and it did improve flow on my setup. I had been running the second stock cat previously. With the new cat the 7m is louder, but throaty. Nothing like it :) Haven't had to pass smog yet but if everything is tip top shape, passing shouldn't be an issue.

what tires would you recomend for a first time car owner that dosent know anything

Another vote for toyoT1Rs. Seem twice as grippy as the proxes 4s, with longer life.

Researches explain they just dont like mice

I kept thinking that was a satirical comedy the whole time... For some reason I just couldn't accept what I was reading as fact. I was driving along a 4 lane road with a low speed limit (35mph) with a friend at dusk a while back. There was moderate traffic and I happen to be in the left...

I'm changing my timing belt and this is what I found. What does it indicate?

wedge that breaker bar and pipe under the car to the ground pointing towards the driver side. Then hit the starter. I'd rather you break a motor mount than hurt yourself... Things that limit power to the starter: -Bad/corroded/dirty ground points -Those useless lead terminals on the...

I'm changing my timing belt and this is what I found. What does it indicate?

In the motion of a dial hand clock, that saying holds true.

I'm changing my timing belt and this is what I found. What does it indicate?

I seriously found a 6' long piece of galv. pipe to fit over the handle of my 24" breaker bar and I still had to lean on it quite a bit to break the tension. I weigh 140. I did have the car in 5th, with hand brake on, and a friend standing on the brakes. When you do bust the bolt loose and...

I'm changing my timing belt and this is what I found. What does it indicate?

LOL I don't do drugs. And since my 90 tsrm says 196 and not 195, you must be more right than toyota. :) my off the top of my head guess is way over the top, i tend to complicate things LOL Forgive my barging in to help, I'll sideline it more often Mr CajunKenney, all I want is to learn...

I'm changing my timing belt and this is what I found. What does it indicate?

Probably not it, just a guess Maybe your front timing plate wasn't machined with the block. Hence the back of the head sits lower than the front, drawing the belt to ride in the back of the cam shaft pullies compared to the crank pulley. To tight the crank pulley bolt, you need take the...

I THINK we have a problem. KS related (and no not about wiring)

The fuel lines are RIGHT THERE!! Use a crescent wrench not a drill on a easy out

I THINK we have a problem. KS related (and no not about wiring)

Dunno, you'll just have to take your chances. I prefer NAPA for quality over any other parts store in my area. A hardware store such as Ace would be a last ditch effort. The ez outs are quite brittle, no impacts allowed. The size you need to remove the threads of the knocksensor will be...

I THINK we have a problem. KS related (and no not about wiring)

No. Pull the intake and get yourself a E-Z Out set. Its a set of taps (like in tap and die set) with counterclockwise twists in them, that when you insert them into a hole, and twist counterclockwise to remove your culprit, the twists on the E-Z Out actually go down like a regular drill bit...

GB interest - Now wheel SPACERS!!!

If you did spacers, would we still have to get our own wheel studs in case the spacer+rim don't allow for the safe 12 turns of lug nuts?
