Lol, so I was talking to Larry@SP and it turns out they went 12.8 20 years ago! Stock turbo as well! This was before anyone knew about the head gasket problems, LOL.
God if I had a quarter every time I hit the rev limiter, I'd be a very rich man. If you are worried about spinning a bearing from hitting the rev limiter, you have much bigger problems on your hands........
Not sure exactly when but I can say there are definitely prototypes floating around!! I know SP will be doing some testing on it in the near future. Hopefully it will have spool of a 62 and power of a 67!!
I'll most likely be going with a similar setup. Probably the 6265 but I'd like to try out the new 6466 that is supposed to come out soon.
I'll be going with the .84 if I don't use a QSV, but if I do use the spool valve probably 1.00.
This'll also be on the stock motor
You're never going to eliminate low boost surge completely with the large valve in a Tial. Contrary to common belief, surge from letting off the throttle is harmless unlike surge under acceleration.
Long story short, you'll be completely fine. This type of surge is completely fine and harmless!
Thanks, I'd like make some more vids once it gets a little warmer out and I can get on it a little more. But she definitely pulls hard for 145k miles! I beat on her every day!
And yes, the reasoning behind the 4" is for a bigger turbo down the road.
