I suggest that if you do get the T70s, send them in for a balance and inspection. Comments from a turbo builder, were that some of the ones they inspected were way out of balance and had cheap, low quality bearings. Re-balanced and with new quality bearings put in, they should work great.

The greddy turbo is internally gated, but has a 3 bolt exit flange. Measure the distance between the bolt hole centers, and getting a flange will be easy.

At least 5 people in recent history were in the upper 600s with a regular throttle body and manifold. However, I have yet to see a 700+ on stock intake manifold, so I would have to say that 699 would be the most you can do unless someone proves that wrong.

Sounds like valve to me. Listen to it under the car, it is usually easy to tell where noise is coming from. Feel the motor while it revs, use a screwdriver to listen, there are lots of tricks. You can also pull the valve covers and check valve clearance. It takes an afternoon to do, but...
