I had the same problems, but after grounding the shit out of the motor, it started purring.
BTW, I should be able to get some more of the braided SS ground straps soon. The school I was in pulled me away from the source, but I'll try to get them this week.
The stinger/1j harness will work as is (I believe according to what I've read). If you do go full 2j, I'll pick up the drewgo manifold from you if you're letting it go.
Cool. I just took the car out & pounded it pretty hard. The miss is still there, only not as severe. I'm going to close the gap from .27 to about .24 and see if that fixes it.
Didn't know your regions tempature, but fluid changing colors is a sign of being overheated. Besides, running the car in the best conditions can heat the PS steering system to the point of failure if it's not operating 100% . Good luck.
I just rewired them and it corrected the problem. Seems that one of them (three total) was arcing above 3700rpm.

I have three 'busted' connectors. The connector itself is intact, but they're missing the little tab that locks them into the coil. I don't see how that could pose a problem....
I just developed the same symtoms. New plugs, gapped at .27. My coils are sleeved, so I don't think cracks are the issue, but I'll check them. I think that my coil harness is the problem, I noticed that one of the wires going into the coil has exposed wire due to changing the plugs so much...
