Yep thats the stuff. I think I have a big roll of it. I could donate some to a sweet 85 if you decide to go that route, but just buying a finished unit is ten times easier.

I bet the packing is something like what I use for glassblowing. The stuff is called frax. It's like white fiberglass insulation, but can take extreme heat.
