    Seam welded and a good cage would have prolonged it's service life for sure, a lot of the twist was because it was a Targa Car so had lousy torsional ridgidity to begin with.

    Mig and CrissCross back and forth across the chassis, bit like torquing a head, as ATM says important to make sure it's as straight as possible before you start, good wheel alignment guy should be able to tell you if it's got a twist to it, Most Mk3's don't unless they've been hit hard of have...

    All of them... and you would stitch weld it in case there's a crack it will stop at the gap. Huge time consuming job though.

    It's only going to rattle while it's stone cold and as you're not making power/hammering it it doesn't matter if it's pulling timing, this of course is only if the machine shop clearances it correctly, I ended up doing a triple coating on my forged pistons, Ceramic Crowns Moly Skirts and Heat...

    Making a New Dipstick

    I silver brazed a male -6 fitting onto a cut down stock tube then used a scrap of braided line with -6 female ends another -6 male that threaded into a bracket for the top and a flexible dipstick from another engine, just made the outer the right length so the scale was in the right place.

    I'd ditch the EGT setup unless it's a new tech Ethernet one, Your power is going to be limited to whatever the chosen Turbo can flow, good choice on the ID Injectors much newer Tech so should give good idle quality without having to drop the base fuel pressure.

    Over the years here I have seen some of THE worst work and fabrication posted and praised.... While I don't openly bag it for it's craptitude I do try and steer people in the right direction, however in the Mod Forum the gloves come off ;)
