That and the Oil Cooler... when you get RK the Oil Filter usually goes into Bypass fairly quickly, this then allows all of the crap it would normally catch to run through the engine and get caught in all the nooks and crannies, you rebuild fire it up and it has loads of oil pressure at first...
One thing you need to keep in mind is if you don't deburr the tops of the bores (and every other hole and sharp edge in the block after machine work) is you run the risk of a stress riser turning into a crack...
Wrong hose in the wrong place, the fittings would be fine to 1000psi... IF the hose hadn't gone soft and failed where the fitting screws on to hold it....
Piece of Teflon hose in there would have been fine but as I said earlier there is no logical reason to do anything with the stock hardline...
Came apart because it's NOT submersible Hose..... NOTHING wrong with the stock hardline and banjos many high HP cars have used it over the years without failure or issue..
Regular Helicoil will be fine if he uses the correct length one, probably a 2d or 2.5d one just need to measure the hole depth, I don't think there's enough meat around the hole to safely use a Time or Keensert.
