What did you do to your supra today? Pics

bahahah too funny. I can honestly say I've been there, plenty of times. But what you didn't see was the stack of 20's beside it. It's ok, though. It's all getting spent on the supra. Wheels, tires, BW 58mm turbo, AEM EMS, oil cooler setup, fuel system, complete overhaul of nearly every...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Question should be "What did your supra do to you today?" Well, my supra busted the top of my right thumb wide open, trying to get the trans. drain bolt loose. I got it loose and hurt myself at the same time, luckily. Trans oil was fiiiilthy. As I've discovered, not changing your gear oil is...

    Wheel shops that rebarrel?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any good wheel shops that can widen stock wheels? (or even make them taller, say 1") Definitely considering doing this with my 16x7" 5 spokes.

    Alternator

Oh, I've learned that the easy, and the hard way.

    Alternator

I think the simple answer is that if your electrical demand is larger, get a larger (preferably OE alternator) while insuring your wiring is up to the task. Either that, or what I'd prefer. Finding a way to reduce the demand.

    Alternator

No, that's not what I was getting at. Just pointing someone in some sort of right direction would be enough. Like telling someone to research how alternators are built and how they function. And yes, that is a nasty trait. I've been lied to, a lot, by people I've trusted, so my trust...

    Alternator

definitely a good read. I understand where you're coming from JJ, but, you really ought to at least allude to what you've got in mind... anytime someone's told me no, my immediate reaction is to question why, if the answer eludes me, my reaction is to say no back.

ok, I understand now, but I'm still curious why no one I've ever heard of bypassing the coolant lines there (myself included) has had a problem with this? curious, that's all...

    Intake temps

no, certainly not. I'll talk with him on wed. morning when I go to look at a 88 hardtop he's got. (don't like my 89 targa) Word from his mouth was that the stock manifold will make 600whp, as well as the stock TB and 2.5" pipes. My power goal is 400whp, although I'm almost certain I'll end...

    Intake temps

Hm, ok. I'm'll have a talk with my tuner/friend, but undoubtedly, the consensus will be the same. Thanks for the input.

Paging all major league pricks. All the guys that know far too much to not be assholes about it. (I think IJ is one of the few who at least tries not to be an asshole) Anyhow, simple question. At high speeds (3,000+ rpm) how much of a chance does the intake charge have to heat up when...

good to know as well... would any chassis reinforcement, or a cage have reduced the amount of twist your car had after that much use?
