Well I finally got the time to actually install the turbo instead of just having it held on with two nuts mocked up.
Here's what I started with:
It's a bolt-on Turbonetics 62-1 T4 with a 4" inlet. Not sure how long they were produced, but both the inducer and exhaust housing sport the...
I'm in the process of trying to hide mine, but I'd rather not locate it inside the car (like the glove box for instance). I'd like some ideas on where it can be relocated, but still be at least somewhat easily accessible. I remember reading that some relocated it along the engine bay frame rail...
I have FFIM made from a 1JZ intake manifold. Just wondering what (if any) modifications need to be made to use the 7M's throttle position sensor on the 1JZ's throttle body.
I have a bolt-on 62-1 Turbonetics T4 (look at avatar) that has ports for both oil and coolant. The issue I have is, the previous owner of my engine never ran coolant to his turbo's and welded up the coolant outlet on the engine.
When I called him and asked if I could route the coolant...
I was at a junk yard the other day and picked up a working set of hood shocks off of an 87T. There are no distinguishing marks so I'm guessing they are aftermarket. Anyways, when I get back and look at my 90T hood shocks (which are blown OEM Tokico's), I see that they bolt to the inner fender...
Here's the deal. My 90T Supra was originally a AT and has now been converted to a manual. The engine now also no longer runs EGR and will using a VPC piggyback.
Ok, since I'm not going to be putting an EGR on the engine, I'll be needing a JDM ECU so the engine won't lean out on me...
I wanted to buy some parts off of him, but he hasn't been on SM since the 10th. I always get great pricing a shipping time from the guy and would rather get these needed parts off of him than another member. But time is a factor here. He answered my PM on the 10th saying he had the parts for me...
I need the spark plug wire order to the coilpack.
I can't seem to get a consistent answer from anybody. Is it different for different years?
I have a 90T and the TSRM for my year says 5,6 - 3,4 - 1,2 (which I am guessing is from right to left). Not sure why they don't just say 123456...
I'm ready to get out of the game. After 4 mechanics destroying my project, I'm at the point of either finding someone local who knows these cars to work on mine, or getting out completely.
I have a 2 bay garage with plenty of tools and 10's of thousands of dollars in parts. I even have a...
I've been looking into the older HKS EVC's to match the appearance of the VPC I've been running. I've heard great things about the EVC 1's ease of use as well as it's rock steady performance. It has just 4 buttons on the front. From left to right they are Power, Low, Medium, and Hi. The EVC 2...
I was looking for just a plain-jane oil cap with no logos for my 7MGTE and I think I found one on ebay that fits the bill. However, it just says "Toyota JDM All Models". I emailed the seller and asked if it fit the Supra and he said that it should since it's universal.
Btw, here's the link...
First off, the engine is out of the vehicle. The thing is completely rebuilt and I had to helicoil both the intake and exhaust side due to the threads striping when the manifolds were removed. I screwed brand new studs from Toyota into both the intake and exhaust sides of the head. The lower...
I did a crap soldier job on my new clips and I just don't trust them. So I'm going the shielded crimp route.
What guage crimps do I need? Guessing, I'd say 20 guage but I'd like to know for sure.
FYI, my new clip's wires appear identical in guage to the OEM ones I removed.

Engine bay cleanup is underway. The driverside of the bay is almost smooth again...
Well, I finally got around to test fitting my fiberglass sub box. It sits flush in the spare tire well and will house 2 10"s nicely. It's currently setup for .65 cuft per side, however, I'm planning on drilling out the back divider and giving each sub a full 1.0cuft. The box itself is crazy...
I just looked at the my mounted factory IC and realized that even it is crammed next to the factory a/c condensor. If I'm going to use a larger FMIC (24" x 18" x 4"), do I have to remove the condensor? If so, how can I retain my a/c? Are there smaller condensor's available that will work?

Not endorsing it, I just got a kick outta them mocking it up on a 7M. Gotta love the PVC.
What pumps the coolant to and from...
I'm talking battery in factory location, alternator, A/C, and all sensors.
My new engine's ready for install and I don't want to clutter up the bay with all the piping required for the OEM Intake Mani. I'm ready to upgrade my stock IC setup therefore need to decide on whether or not to go...
Well, I had my engine bay completely stripped of all paint, power washed, 3 coats of Second Skin Sound Deadener Spray, followed by 2 coats of gloss black paint. Not really digging the Rhino Liner look, but it'll keep down road noise, never rust, and well.....it's different.
Next comes the...
So I'm trying to install my flowtested Nippon Denso 550's (low impedence off a rx-7 Turbo), but there's no room for the clips. Maybe the O-rings are too big, but I used the ones that came in the OEM Gasket set. The OEM fuel rail sits right against where the clips go in.
I know alot of people...
