2JZ cooling fan and related parts on a 1JZ

FYI, I ran the FAL 210's for a few years, and everytime it would get 85+ degrees out side my temps would climb on the hwy. Scince changing to the mech fan I have had no problems, which includes driving from Canada to Las Vegas last Oct for SILV, there was a car in our group that had the FAL...

2JZ cooling fan and related parts on a 1JZ

Ditch the electric fans and go with the mechanicla fan, either the 2jz mk4 clutch and fan or the LS400 clutch and 7m fan blade. You will never have cooling problems with a mechanical fan.

    bic 2jz bracket

The shifter sits close to the trans tunnel hole, it shouldnt need trimming, but if its touching with the mounts attached, obviously it must be trimed a bit. I am not to sure if Auto Supras have a different size or shaped hole for the shifter.

    bic 2jz bracket

The brackets go on the rear most set of mounting holes. The L side goes on the intake manifold side of the engine. There may be a fuel line fitting using these holes, simply unbolt the fuel block, then the bracket, and the fuel line block back ontop of the bracket. Yes the bellhousing is shorter...

Yup use the 3SGTE fW bolts for the 1jz/ 2jz, Thats what I use with Lock Tight. just make sure the threads are cleaned with solvent or brake kleen first.

    JZ coils and standalone EMS's

No with the Haltech E11v2 you cannot assign a table for dwell, I am not sure about with the new Platinum Sport 2000 ECU that I am installing, but we will see. Anyways, I will be trying out the 1zzfe / 2zzfe coils on my 1jz, and I am doing a 2jz in the shop with LS1 Truck coils, with a custom...

Breather on IAC? (should it be routed to intake pipe insead?)

You need to keep that first hose off the valve, then use a 3/4 K&N or similar filter with a male style inlet, that will slide inside the small hose piece.

Suspension Tuning ASB, BIC End Links

A good place to start is so that the sway bar is level with the ground when the car is sitting on a level surface. If you use the ST bars esspecially on the "stiff" inner setting you need to lengthen them about 1".

Which Wideband Controller Should I use?

I have used and installed quite a few different ones heres my opinion: -AEM Uego, super simple to install, two wires, no calibration needed, they work great everytime. I have one gauge/ sensor kit that has been used for 4-5 years now in multiple cars, and as a portable one that I can just...

Nitto 555R or BFG Drag Radials

I will be gettign a set of the MT DR's, what size would be best for the stock sawblades....actually they only have a 255/50/16, I thought they had a 275 in a 16 rims size. I am currently running some 275/40/17 BFG DR on some mustang wheels. My best 60' was a 1.9x.

    BIC mount placement problem

Yes, use the rear most mounting holes on both sides, you need to loosen off the fuel line fitting and put the bracket underneith it, then bolt it back ontop.

Breather on IAC? (should it be routed to intake pipe insead?)

Using a small K&N style fliter on the IACV is a common way to do it. It will not cause a boost leak, there is a oneway valve in the manifold under the valve, so unless that valve is broken, torn or put in backward, it shouldnt leek.

    engine mount torquing

Tight is fine, what ever you can pull on a standard 3/8" ratchet. it doesnt have to be crazy tight...how often have you ever had a bolt loosen off by it self ????, proably never, so there is no need to "give er" as tight as you can.

Aristo 2jz with 2jz supra waterpump. Do I need a supra water necK?

The 2jz and 1jz necks are different though, the 2jz (Aristo) one sits a bit higher and sticks out about 1/2" farther (closer to the fan).

    New single turbo

^^^ like everyone else said, the 60-1 is even pushing it a bit for stock everything. At the very least get some 440 cc injectors and a SAFC. A journal bearing 67 mm is quite laggy on a 1jz, full boost at 4500+ rpms, but when it hits it pulls hard.

Updated: Pics on post #28. Billet turbo with SP Quick spool valve.

Yes, there is such thing as "too fast" in regards to spooling, first off there is the traction problems like IJ has pointed out, but that can be fixed by running lower boost, at least in first and second gear and with the AVCR I think you can run lower boost in diferent gears. Second, the...
