A soarer in similar condition would be slightly cheaper. With his budget would get him a soarer with low miles in great condition while it would only get him an NA MKIV in fair condition and average/high miles.
I'm interested as to why there is such a clear winner though, aren't the MKIV and...
In before the evitable lock.
It’s all down to personal preference as to which motor is ‘best’ as they all excel in different areas.
Stop ruining threads like these with childish comments.
Start proving your point through your actions (IE by Building one hell of a car with your chosen...
My dad is looking for a 'sporty' 2 + 2 coupe to replace his rather crap Saab and we're narrowed the list pretty much down to either a Soarer (either the 1JZ or V8 with air suspension) or J-Spec NA Supra given that they are now dirt cheap (They've began to creep around the $4000usd mark)...
What if going back to college while being at home was not an option?.
The parents are relocating to another country (Cyprus), meaning I'm pretty much screwed if I wanted to go back and study.
I understand this completely, but I don't see how this move could do be any more harm than...
I stopped working with my dad because after we completed the last project (in feb), he decided to take a break from the property game until the market stabilizes itself out a bit. He says he’ll gone in as a silent partner on my own project, but I won’t be doing that for a few years...
I know, I hate these type of threads too, but I could really do with some outside opinions right now.
I left High School at 16 (different schooling system here + I skipped a grade before anyone gets confused.) with some pretty decent grades, got into the college I wanted and did the

If you've got a NA and an itchy wallet, put the majority money into the ground work (brakes, suspension, wheels & tires) and then get the rest in a savings account for a boosted setup.
The Work to $$$ to Gain ratio just doesn't make it worth it.
Yes you'll be 'different' for chasing a 'high...
Not trying to be funny here, but I'm not sure how you can consider a car that has physical holes from rust as 'clean'? :dunno:
I'd seriously consider a reshell, but considering there isn't anything partiuclarly special there, I'd stick a for sale sign in the window and hope to turn a small...
God I need to learn how to weld - I haven't been able to find a single place that will do a catback system for less for £450 (Circa $900...).
To answer the original question, the RSR style is the look I'll be going. When I first saw it I thought it was a bit goofy, but it's grown on me, a...
Why the hell should be fired for doing his job?
You can't "slightly" break the law, It's either it's broken or it's not, and going just two miles over the limit is breaking the law no matter how you look at it. If the officer wants to pursue it, the offender must deal with the consequences.
You're only just realizing dealer parts are expensive ? :biglaugh:.
In all fairness it might seem a lot to pay for a piece of plastic, but 200 dollars is a drop in the ocean once you consider just how it will cross to rectify the damage that will be caused by having an incomplete cooling system.
I buddy that works at Audi said that their cars are purposely designed to be PITA to work on so in order to deter DIYers and small independent garages from doing the work. It makes perfect sense too.
It's a conspiracy I tells ya! ;).
Wouldn't count on it mate. Engine sellers tend to pull the quoted mileage completely out of their ass and there is no way to properly verity it.
Sounds like you picked a short straw and got an engine that got it's tits ragged off of it in Japan. Luck of the draw I guess.
Good Luck...
SR20's have plenty of tuning scope, as do CA18's which will make 300horse very cheaply and very easily.
The point is I doubt you'd be in much of a hurry to drop in a KA series motor if your S1x had a CA18 or SR20 under the hood from the factory ;).
