thanks guys! its nice to see people that can appreciate all our efforts of finding just the right car.
dumas formerly known as louky- no we picked up this car outside of e-town so i doubt its the same car.
edge- it was ours for $700 and some assy required haha.
yep we used the universal 24" lokar on all 3 of our cars. sean's w/ the q45, chris's w/ the stock tb, and mine w/ the 75mm ford.

thanks guys!
yes it is a two tone brown/gray color. in one light it looks brown and in another it looks more gray. it is a factory color altho not many around.
sean- lol. i think even your car will be done before this one.
buddy and i have been looking for a hardtop supra to start a project with. solid shells are getting harder and harder to come by these days. we finally found one! it is a very solid car. only issues are the mudflap on the driver side (big surprise), the pass side door trim is missing and the...
yeah parts of the city were pretty rough, but my end of town there werent any issues thankfully.
on a side note, more good news!
we are still good for the outdoor dyno and jetfixr said his buddy bought a dyno and would be willing to do our cars as well! he is going to speak to him to work...
no it wont set a code for knock. all it will do is start to pull timing once knock is detected. the only reason the CEL will come on is if there is a problem w/ the circuit itself (bad knock sensor, wiring, ecu).
to see if it is working properly, have someone hold a timing light on the...
congrats aaron! nice power level for the boost and tune. there is still a lot left in it!
about the turbo size, no it isnt a huge turbo by today's standards. it just looks so big from the outside because the comp cover is bigger than an S cover. you cant judge a turbo by its cover, its...
this isnt true. they do increase power on our car. maybe not a ton at near stock levels, but the more mods you have the higher the power gain.
i believe on a stock 7m i saw an air filter comparison on a dyno. i think the apexi had the highest gain ~11rw and the k&n filter at ~9rw. sure that...
matt-
you need to set a goal for the car. atleast to a point.
do you want to run a front face intake? which turbo do you want? what exh manifold do you want to run? what power do you want to make?
you can easily get 350rw out of some simple bolt ons and be done. but, if you are...
conservative tune is 11.5:1 range. most lean youd ever want to go is 12-12.3:1 it will make a little more power running that range, but less room for error. 11.5:1 range you can make really good power yet still have a good margin of safety.
as far as putting more fuel back in you need to...
well this is true. but the questions should have been asked before you started tweaking. there has to be someone in your area familiar w/ tuning?
besides, w/ a wideband 02 you can do a rough tune- say 11:1 range on the street or track. then take it to the dyno for fine tuning. i can usually...
no offense, but if you dont know the basics you dont need to be tuning your car.
a/f = air to fuel ratio. the higher the number, the more air to fuel ratio and the leaner it is.
10:1 is 10 part air, 1 part fuel.
13:1 is 13 part air, 1 part fuel.
you are lucky if you didnt detonate...
sorry for the confusion zurud. pages go by fast on this thread.
but all in all it was good that we changed the meet date. it has just been pouring buckets here all day and supposed to continue into tomorrow.
now lets just hope for good weather in oct :)
wow yeah thats scary! you need to put some more fuel in there!
ive always thought 11.5-11.8:1 is the best compromise between safety and power.
excellent post rich!
