    This is late but...

I don't know what plans I have for this yet. I'm pretty happy with stock. I might change the wheels. Since I'm a family man my funds are limited. I like a smooth and quiet ride, not looking to blow the pants off every Honda I see.

    This is late but...

Back in late '91 I test drove a 1992 Supra Turbo from the now defunct Toyotaville in West Fort Worth. It was medium blue (haven't seen one that color since) and had the five spoke wheels. I took it up onto Loop 820 and punched it and before I knew it I was doing 115 mph! I passed a Chevrolet...

    This is late but...

I should have done this a couple of weeks ago. I just recently purchased an 89 Supra N/A after graduating from an 85 Celica GT-S. I'll put some before and after Supra pics on here. The Celica and Supra were my high school dream cars. I work as a firefighter/paramedic at a major airport. Am I the...

    Indicator on dash

Ok, now that I know what it is, I found the other threads about it. Thanks. No one else need reply.

    Indicator on dash

It is orange and yes as a matter of fact it looks like a birdcage.

    Indicator on dash

I do not have an owners manual for my 89 Supra. Today while testing driving to see if the cruise control worked after rerouting some vaccum line (it does work now thank you) there was an indicator light that flashed occasionally. It is located just to the left of the temperature gauge and it...

    Vaccum lines

My heater is working now! I have yet to test the cruise control though. Thanks guys for the illustrations, they helped alot.

    Vaccum lines

Ok, so my heater is not working and I was looking at the heater control apparatus under the hood and noticed that the vaccum line for it was coming from the cruise control (it doesn't work either) and thought to myself that this didn't seem right. Also, there seems to be two other stems on the...

    Knocking...

I checked the codes and they are TPS signal and knock sensor signal. I then went by my trusted mechanics shop and it's a rod knocking.:nono: Oh well, I'll just get a JDM somewhere I guess. Would like a GTE but that is $$$$. Anybody want to donate?

    My knocking new ride...

Yeah they were. One of the previous owners had quite the audio system in it. The current radio is not hooked up so don't know if I even have speakers. Oh well, it goes on the list of things to do. BTW...I took it by a shop and it's a rod knocking for sure. I see a JDM in my future. Taking...

    My knocking new ride...

I have no intentions on changing the interior. The only physical appearance I may change are the wheels...much later after the mechanical issues are resolved. The car has, I'm guessing, around 200k miles on it. The odometer states 132k but when I carfaxed it, it reported an odometer...

    My knocking new ride...

After graduating from an '85 Celica GT-S, I purchased this '89 Supra last Saturday. It has an inconsistent knock. I am not sure if it's a rod or if the valves and lifters are in need of adjustment. It sure runs good even though it may need an engine. It is a non turbo in case yall are...

    Knocking...

Yes the check engine light is coming on. The knock really sounds like it is coming from the head, but I'll see about pulling the injector clips.

    Knocking...

Hey I'm new and have looked through the list to find questions on my specific issue but haven't seen one. I have an 89 non turbo that has a knock that sounds like it's in the head. 190k miles. No knock at idle, just when you give it the gas. My question is could it be the lifters or what? I just...
