Nice progress, keep at it! You'll love it once it is finished. Got to start mine up this past weekend since I was moving and moved it to its new garage. I really miss my car during the salt season here :( As for schedules slipping, just need to make sure it is done for the June show. My...
lol, that would be mine, without a proper tune and running pig rich with the stock SC400 exhaust manifolds. Still pushes harder and handles better than with the previous engine which was running at the stock boost level.
Yup, been done for a while now. The engine swap was finished the first year, then the next winter (last winter) it had much of the suspension redone although this part is not completely finished since I need to make some adjustable end-links for a set of ST bars I have sitting in the garage...
+1 for the 1UZ-FE swap. Supercharge it or add a turbo or two and you end up with things like:

Those mounts look suspiciously like my design ;) lol. The ride is smooth from idle to redline. Anyone who wants the CAD drawings for the solid mounts, they're on my build site. If you don't like solid mounts, then removing ~2" from them will allow the stock 7MGTE rubber isolator to be used...
If you have the time and space to part out the car and you can get a good deal then go with the car. Depending on the condition, you could probably make some money back from parting the rest of it out. I went with just the engine and ended up having to hunt down a full harness, AFM, ECU and...
Are you referring to the box by the throttle body? If so, it is for the traction control. There is an extra throttle plate in the throttle body. I am not sure how to make it work with the swap.

Loving the fact they have the 1UZ swap for the MkIII so I can build a virtual copy of my car =) Although after swapping the engine in, the game states specify the car is slightly heavier when in fact, the car is slightly lighter irl.
Picked up Borderlands as well and having a...
Not quite related to my build but since so many are interested in the build but have yet to see it or experience it I thought I'd post this bit of news. If you have Forza 3, you to may purchase an MkIII and swap in a 1UZ-FE in the game! After a quick build and review, I noticed only one...
Sorry to here you've lost interest in the UZA70 Supra :( If I had the money I'd purchase it from you in a heartbeat. Nice car and clean swap. PM'd you about the BBK.
Thanks to Scott and redmk3turbo for cruising up with us. Even with the intermittent rain, we still had fun although there was one incident with redmk3turbo's car which put damper on the events. Unfortunately his car was keyed during the event and no one observed the person doing it. It is a...
Coming from the guy who posted GR is too far to drive ;P~ Seriously, I am considering coming over to Kensington but I still think Xceed needs to stop biasing towards the eastern side of the state and have their annual gathering a bit more central.
Ok, Scott, redmk3turbo and I are all driving up to the show and will be there most of the day. Mattman, make sure to stop by and show the car for a bit. Would be nice to have a strong showing of the Supras at the Toyota lot.
I had my hard line out to weld the threaded ends on and it was both a pain coming out and a pain putting back in even with the 1UZ not installed yet. I think if the line ever does go bad before I redo the setup for a TT it'll get converted to a high pressure braided SS line with AN fittings...
Called the Toyota/Scion dealership in Grand Rapids, MI today to find out if they were holding a show again this year which corresponds to the 5th Annual Metro Cruise. Here is what I found out:
I will be headed up for it as it was a ton of fun last year with some decent prizes (even if I...
