Yes you can take off the pre89 molding and slap it on top of the 89+ center piece molding. The 89+ center piece molding will not come off, so basically your just gonna mount the pre89 molding on top of it. johnathan1 did it to his car and so did I.

There is no aftermarket company that sells an aftermarket body trim for our cars. Toyota still sells the trim but will cost you a great deal of money to buy it brand new. And yes it is possible to fill in the indents with fiberglass or bondo and will require a great deal of work. Many have done...
