quick 89+ taillight convert question

so, i might be gettin some free 89+ tails :biglaugh:
i'm thinkin of tintin them a little because i got a full can of that vht shit and then gettin em professionally cleared.
so anyway, my question is:
is there any way to take my molding off my 88 center piece and somehow attach it to this new 89+ center piece?

Yes you can take off the pre89 molding and slap it on top of the 89+ center piece molding. The 89+ center piece molding will not come off, so basically your just gonna mount the pre89 molding on top of it. johnathan1 did it to his car and so did I.
