When you rev the engine, does it get louder at the RPMS increase? Thatll narrow your choice down of what creating the noise. Many think valvetrain noises are rod knock.

I would consider this car no better than a shell. 1000$ if its in goooooood condition. If its got rust, go there with 600 bucks and dont pay a dime more.
