true that i have not yet had a chance to go look at the SUV but i will be sure to check out the maf. And when i drop the tank (if i do) ill replace the sock.
I'm assuming both filter and sock have been changed. This is a friends vehicle he took it to a shop and they diagnosed it as a fuel filter he had it changed and also had the pump changed I would think the sock would have been changed to.
Although I guess the next step would be to drop the tank...
So the car in need is a 2003 5.3l V8 Chevy Tahoe
Problem is about every 15 miles the car acts like it runs out of gas and dies. I can turn it right back on and go another 200ft then does the same
It idles fine and won't shut off.
Oil gauge also says its loosing pressure when car is dying out...
Why?....... Stock turbo only creates excess heat after 15psi and it's at its limit. I'm in no way shape or form telling you what to do just trying to warn you and save you from feature pain and sadness.
Harness is a pretty easy one if the car has TEMS check the color of the plug on the shock tower if not check the color of the plug on the CPS sensor Grey means 89+ Yellow is PRE 89
Another easy thing to look at is pre 89 speedo goes to 140mph post 89 is 160mph
Like stated above it's hard to answer.
But a couple things i can point out is the stock CT-26 turbo is only good until 15psi and the most power i've heard it making is around 300whp
Also i would not push 12psi with stock exhaust/intake Ect..
you will definitely want to get bigger injectors...
