Check the turbo for shaft play. Could be the compressor wheel grinding against the housing.

Mustangs do that. My second GT, which was kind of a piece, got more attention than all of my Supras combined. My Cobra gets more than all the rest of my cars combined. lol

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can run a 6spd off the auto ecu. I'm sure you could turn the auto bits off in a tune if it's not a separate controller anyway. Can't remember right now.

LSx + T56 swap would be great. 400+rwhp, naturally aspirated, 100% reliable and lighter than the stock drivetrain. I don't know of anyone selling pre-fabbed mounts, but it shouldn't cost too much to get done. I know it fits with plenty of room up front. The T56 idea requires a little trans...

Bamf. I'd definitely rock it. You guys are missing the point. Free car, free motor. Very, very little money invested, most of the parts were just laying around. It'll get boosted soon, in the mean time it's a free reliable MkIII.
