can you run a 1.2mm mhg 7m on the stock ecu? i know hks sells them and people have ran them. so does it ruin the timing? or what?
couldn't seem to find anything about it. i remember reading wesbeech's build where he shaved the hell out of the head with a 1.2mm saying his compression way up...
^well you were saying you have pulled the head a couple times already. so that alone can warp it pretty good unless you are extra careful and take the time to crack them loose in like 5 passes.
i'm not positive but i think the .012" warp is the problem. that is really extreme. and to cut that...

just make sure the crank is 0 and the cams are straight up. i don't see how you would run into any problems doing it that way.

i have used that trick on other motors. its just i don't see why you would have to replace the injector clip. i know you wouldn't say that for fun. i was curious as to why.

i had a couple of those in my tranny i rebuilt. i rebuilt it because the previous rebuild done by some shop blew itself up. they seem to be in the aftermarket kits.
the new toyota syncros i got looked like the bottem ones...
and my tranny shifts great. been about a year. i wouldn't worry...
what else did you mess with?
you say you just pulled the motor to do "oil squirter's and pumps and such". what does that mean? your talking about adjusting the cps and tps but why would you be messing with those if you just pulled the oil pan?

yeah you keep breaking old ass worn out transmissions. whats your point. rebuild one with fresh bearings, syncros, mc bearing retainer, and actually check the clearences. i bet it will take whatever you throw at it...
