I use Sta-bil in my atv, jet ski, and landscape equipment with good results. However I put it in while the gas is fresh. I know you lost your job but you are only talking about $10-15 worth of fuel. I would put it in a gas tank and use it to start bonfires but thats just me.

I know this wasnt what you wanted to hear but pull the motor again. My advice is to do everything now so you dont have to pull it again. Have the block machined, measure the cylinder for out of round per tsrm specs, if its out have it bored out, eitherway, you need to have the cylinders...

I'd like to hear more as well as I am in the market for a replacement as soon as I rebuild my motor. The problem with ebay feedback is people post it as soon as they receive the item, or as soon as they install it, so the feedback doesnt really illustrate the reliability of the unit.

Your compression test suggests bad rings. Just speculating here but with the cap off the crankcase pressure is zero, so your af mix was blowing by the piston rings even easier, thus less oil was finding its way up into the cylinders, does your oil smell like its getting fuel in it?
