    The Mistress

    Small update... picked up some stainless bolts to replace some ugly old ones today. Also installed my new hood bump stops, and the new shifter boot. Pics below! Old and ugly: Shiney! Smooth:

    Where is your favourite place to eat?

    If it's BEFORE July 29th, I'll be here. I'm out of the city starting the morning of the 29th.

    Where is your favourite place to eat?

    We've got a local small chain restaurant here called Memphis Blues... it's great. If you're ever in the area, let me know and I'll take you there.

    Rubber stopper behind turbo

    As I recall, the part number from Toyota is 90339-16007. It's not expensive.

    cant get trans into gear

    Next step is checking what's changed... if the clutch was working before, chances are it must be something that was just touched - or one of the new pieces is faulty in some way. Did you replace both the master and the slave? Is it leaking fluid now - try pumping it a couple hundred times and...

    cant get trans into gear

    Start with the engine off. Put it in gear, then start it, note whether the car still tries to move while starting it. If so, your clutch release system is not working in some way. It's not that complex on the Supra - not so sure about the Celica. The older ones are hydraulic systems like the...

    87 has water leak into trunk floor

    That sounds like the evil window trim problem. The lower window trim is held on by several bolts, and these have foam seals from the factory. By now, those foam seals are likely dust, and it's leaking in around those bolts. It's relatively simple to pull the lower trim, clean the area, and...

    Gurren Lagann!!!

    I've never gotten into the Gundam series. Whenever I look, there's too many choices... any words of wisdom for where to start?

    Hail storm... FML

    Motorcycle helmet and football pads and you're set. Of course, by the time you get all that on, run outside, and deploy the rug, chances are the car is fucked anyway.

    Roofcchange

    Girls I knew were always wanting to stick their heads up... until one of 'em swallowed a bug. My comments about that not being the worst thing she's swallowed didn't help any. :D

    My black widebody MKIII with 2JZ-GTE and V-160

    I don't think that will help your engine coolant temps any. It should be great for the oil temps! I'm thinking about moving my oil cooler to the outside of the frame rails, behind where the foglight goes. If I need more airflow, I'll either fab a duct for it, or more likely, put a small...

    Roofcchange

    Sure it is... but when you're cruising with the lady in the evening at ~5 mph, it doesn't matter, the targa is still cool. :)

    Roofcchange

    There is a LOT of extra metal in the targa versions. I've seen half cuts from both targa and hardtops, the targas have almost double the steel in the rockerpanels.

    Archer = Fantastic

    I like to wait until a season is done, that way I can chain smoke the whole thing in a day or so. Season 2 just ended, so...

    high idle wtf?

    And double check for vacuum leaks. That's about where mine idled when the vacuum line to the wastegate popped off behind the engine.

    Koyo radiator... soon to be replaced with a PWR, and my oil cooler is from Earls. Pretty similar, though:

    Archer = Fantastic

    I'm half way through season 2 of Archer, and I'm laughing so damn hard it hurts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archer_%28TV_series%29 This thing is so politically incorrect, I'm astonished that it made it on the air. If you get a chance, watch some. Careful though, this thing is worse than...

    Crank/Keyway problem. Please help

    I'd have remembered something with a name that easy. Doesn't look quite the same, either, from the description this wasn't a rotary tool... is there a reciprocating version of the same thing? Not that it really matters, as long as it'll cut a new keyway. :)

    Crank/Keyway problem. Please help

    There is a special tool to cut a new keyway... I'll be damned if I can remember what it's called, a friend of mine (millwright) told me about it years ago. Decent machinist probably knows what it is, though.
