Agree.
I listen to loud music for my own enjoyment and no other reason. Not overpowering bass, just balanced loud clear sound. People forget to amp your mids and highs and that IMO is one of the most important steps for better sound.
Thanks for the replies. After talking to a lot of people, including a GTE swap IS owner, I've decided to keep my car and get winter beater/daily. I've put too much time and money into the supra for me to just sell it.
What kind of amp is it? I don't really think a cap really fixes anything, just bandaids it. With a healthy battery and alternator you shouldn't be having trouble with a mild setup though IMO. I'd rewire your alt and batt with 4 guage, a lot of resistance builds up through the years.
Diagnosed. Was under the hood and decided to give the alt a tap and what do you know, it starts whining and i have voltage again. Brushes or comm must be spent or dirty. New alt on the way. Thought it was the alt but was just confused by the symptoms.
I had this problem the other day with my car where i started it up and realized the battery was only showing 11.9 volts on my turbo timer and my idiot lights were on. I checked the battery connections and started the car back up and still the same issue. As i drove down the road i was looking...
I've been thinking these last few days. I think i'd probably miss "going fast" a lot so i'm trying to think of if having a newer nicer car would outweigh being considerably slower. Also i think i'd lean toward an automatic as opposed to a 5 speed because lets not kid ourselves, the is300 isn't...
Recently my car's age has become more and more apparent to me from general aesthetics (maaco did a poor job) to driveability (no power steering and poor idle due to lex/560 without tune). I've been looking around lately and i've found a few 5 speed IS300's for a decent price and it's got me...
Imagine all the small metal filings that always settle to the bottom of the pan. Personally i wouldn't want to do this every change.
Plus this is old stuff.
You must have the belt routed wrong. Double check how you put it in. Don't try to turn the engine over(or the cam gears with the belt attached) with the cam gear bolts.
Don't do it. Such a little gain for such a big loss. If you're determined to make your car's value less and and make it a bear to turn with an unnoticable gain in horsepower just make sure to fill it up and loop the PS lines.
